  1. Late substitution on DVC interview

I just heard from my media contact at the Disney Vacation Club. DVC President Jim Lewis has been called into a meeting and will be unavailable for today's interview, which -- in turn -- had been postponed from yesterday.

I'll be able to interview my media contact about most of the topics that I was going to interview Jim about, but it's still disappointing.

Star Wars Weekends interview coming up shortly. More later.

  2. Research trip's off to a booming start

    What a day!

After getting in to the Orlando, I raced to get my car, check in, and head to the Studios. Once there, I was taken behind the shrub barrier, met Imagineers Kevin Rafferty and Sue Bryan and then got to try out Toy Story Midway Mania! (apparently, the official name of the attraction on both coasts is Toy Story Midway Mania!, but the marketing department uses Toy Story Mania! because it's shorter and easier to spoon-feed to the public) in between Imagineering taking shots ...

OK, so in today's Park Update I noted that the sign changeover at the Studios theme park is still in progress, including a number of photos from Steve Russo showing some things that have and have not been changed over. But the egg was on my face.

You see, we hadn't made much of a change here, either. In fact, we really had made barely any changes at all. Just the Entertainment and Park Hours schedule, to be exact. The Refurbishments section of the Park Update? MGM. The main ...

  4. Who's it going to be? Not me.

Well, I've officially given up on trying to enter the Dream CMO contest. I know that I said in a prior post that I was going to use it as a way to try to recapture the magical feeling of Disney, but real life kind of got in the way.

It's not that I didn't come up with a great idea for the video. (I had a good script written, with an idea for the accompanying visuals.) It's not that I didn't want to do the job. I still think that it would be cool to work for Disney, and this was ...
  5. Where does the time go?

Geez, has it been over a week since my last blog post? I was going to keep this thing updated several times a week.

The problem here is that, for the last week or so, I've been actively trying to have some semblance of a life. Between writing the Park Updates; writing, recording, and publishing the podcast and show notes; creating random other features (see Friday's Animal Kingdom Villas photo tour) and various and sundry other MousePlanet stuff -- not to mention The Job That Pays ...
