I signed up for the ALC 7....if you are a biker and know what I am experiencing...I will be biking from SF to LA, Ca. I am in true panic mode!!!!....I have been ridin, and up to 80 miles, but I do not know if I am ready for this!! ugggg. This is truly a life changing experience. If there is anyone else out there planning on doing this ride..hopefully we can meet up and pm/talk about this

Finally got back here...I would be glad to do that but I'm just a lowly Caregiver here in Garden Grove; but at least I replied!!!

80 miles is pretty good. How far do you usually ride in a day on the trip?

I've run 2 marathons, and I would never have guessed that I could do it. Just believe in yourself. Having a mantra helps through those tough times. A quote, a family member's name, a Bible verse, whatever might help you focus on something else besides pain/discomfort/thoughts of quitting.

You can do it!

Hi Mooshu
I personally have not, but my best friend and my husband's best friend did the ALC 5 and we were there to cheer them on at the finish line. They both said how truly life changing this ride was. They are actually meeting up w/ some friends they met on that ride this weekend on the Santa Monica to Santa Barbara ride.
I know that they both would love to talk to you about ALC. We're from the Bay Area too. Let me know and I can give them your info.

You already are an inspiration!! Have a great ride! I know you can do it! :D

Thank you! My motivation to ride compared to run is totally different. I can run and train for a marathon in a couple of hours, but to train for this ride feels like I'm giving up my life! I have to ride every weekend at least 8 hours every Sat & Sun.....ugggg that means giving up my weekends, every weekend. Thanks for the support:)

Tony and I have a friend who has done this race several times - let me see if I can get him in here to answer your questions.
