If any one cares . . .

Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood have both set dates for the grand openings of “The Simpsons Ride” next month. May 15 and 16 in Orlando, May 17th in Hollywood.

I did it when I went in May. I was not impressed. Very very long queue (the wait time was 20 minutes, but that was just the outside queue). Once they ask you how many in your party, then you go into another room and stand in a line with a certain number, like most rides. After standing in there for about 10 minutes, then we had to go into a small room (felt a bit claustrophobic and I never feel that way). After wasting another 5-10 minutes in there, they finally let us in the room where the ride car is. The ride itself is very intense if you ask me (I don't do rollercoasters and stuff very well, so maybe my intense is someone's thrilling). After the ride I was feeling quite motion sick with a nice headache. But the wait time said 20 minutes and that's what we stood in for the outside queue. Once you get to the inside, double your wait time. I don't think it's worth anything longer than a 20 or 30 minute wait.

I rode it last week in Hollywood, both Saturday and Monday and LOVED it!!!

There are some great tributes to the prior attraction, Back to the Future, and the queue video is really funny.

The ride itself is very good, but it is based on a roller coaster type of ride, so as a coaster lover, it was GOOD, but I can understand if some folks didn't like the sharp movements, but there are PLENTY of warnings while waiting for the ride.

I enjoyed the queue themeing, not bad, but also not the best. As for USH rides, Jurassic Park has the better queue, but the Simpsons ride has a better queue than Revenge of the Mummy, especially the extended queue area.

I'm kind of surprised how little I've heard about this ride now that it's opened in both US parks.

So is it just another simulator ride like Future, but with cartoons all around you, as opposed to an intensified dark ride the The Mummy or something?

Just wondering. I doubt I'll be back to Universal any time before Harry Potter opens.

I love the new Simpsons Ride, it is the same basic ride system as Back to the Future, in fact, there are a lot of "hidden" jokes in the queue video, the pre-show and in the actual film. But it is a simulator ride, basically starting on a roller coaster, but then the car gets bumped off the track, and the hilarity ensues.

I loved it too. I really loved the part of the queue when you are waiting to go into your simulator. The videos with Patty/Selma, Apu, etc are very funny.

There are lots of "digs" at disney- I found them hilarious.

My kids loved it too- we rode it about 5 times in one weekend.

Yes the ride setup is the same as Back to the Future. which was very slow loading ride (think a Soaring type setup) that even at it's end seem to have long lines. With the new interest with the makeover, do go early!
