for two days of our Orlando trip, I am going to have my two preschoolers (ages almost 3 and 4 1/2) on my own while my husband attends a much needed golf schol :D. So, I am wondering, where would you go with two preschooolers on your own? Any parks you would totally avoid? I have a double stroller, and they are decent (but not perfect!) listeners, and I often take them to our local zoo or whatever on my own, so they are used to that. I would be parking (have AAA parking pass) and we are staying off site. Thanks!

I would definitely do MK.

I am not a fan of AK (and you already mentioned you visit the zoo often), it's pretty spread out and quite a bit warmer than the other parks.

Epcot is my favorite park, but there aren't many 'kiddie' rides. Nemo, Gran Fiesta Tour, that's it really.

DHS (formerly MGM) doesn't have many rides period.

At the Magic Kingdom you've got Monsters Inc, the TTA, Pirates, all of Fantasyland, etc.

As the previous poster said, I would definitely do Magic Kingdom and avoid Animal Kingdom.

The Magic Kingdom has all the Disney attractions that will be familiar and Animal Kingdom is very warm. If you do want to spend some time at AK, go early in the day as the vegetation for the animals makes it the warmest.

Oh don't listen to Keith... he's an Animal Kingdom hater!!! I would definitely do AK, it is very relaxed and kids love it. You can linger on the trails watching animals, and sit down and rest for a while watching shows like Pocahontas, Nemo, or Flights of Wonder. Not many of the rides are intense, the kids should enjoy the Safari, and if you want to tire them out you should certainly go to the Dig Site and let them play, my son loves that place!

Magic Kingdom would be my other choice. I think Epcot is fun for kids, but it is so huge and would be better when you have your DH to help you out with the kids - plus to use switch passes for the rides you want to go on and the kids don't or can't. Studios wouldn't be a bad choice either though, it is show intensive, and it is small. So, it's easy to get around, you have a lot of opportunities to sit down and relax, and the kids will probably be thrilled with Lights, Motors, Action! It is very exciting. The other really great play area of the parks is there: Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set is a great place to let them loose and tire them out.

My initial thought would be the Studios - because it is fairly show intensive, and I hear the play area is fun. There's a lot of sitting, but not so much standing in line, which I think can be harder on controlling preschoolers when they don't feel like listening (aka, they're tired, hot, hungry, or thirsty - or just being preschoolers).

Sorry, I'm totally leading off topic.

What is the AAA parking pass and how do you get it? AND, did you get your tickets through AAA?

I would do MK - storm it over to Fantasyland then skip over to Toon Town - when the crowds start to swell take the train and Liberty Belle Riverboat, pitch a spot for the parade and then your littlies should be just about done for the day! I think personally I would do the Studios for a second day - Playhouse Disney, quite possible the new Toy Story Ride, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. There are also lots of good characters to queue up for at the Studios. AK is also great for little ones but it does feel really spread out to me without much shade and I just think it might be harder work to do on your own. However, you could do the shows as described at the Studios then hop to AK and take the train to Conservation Station, perhaps look at one of the animal treks and take in the lion king show.

hi there,
I haven't used the AAA parking pass before-it is from the motor assocation, but no I didn't buy my tix there-I bought it on ebay-it has a place for a signature, and mine is blank and looks new so assuming it will be okay, but others will know more than me (not hard to do!). It is supposed to give you much better parking (close to the handicap parking), but you still have to pay for parking if that makes sense

Is the parking any cheaper? It would be nice to get that expense out of the way before the trip as well.

Getting back to the original question, I'd also do MGM (sorry can't get used to HS) instead of the MK.

(Drince and I always seem to think alike :fez:)

In a morning alone with 2 preschoolers you can do: Muppet Vision, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Playhouse Disney, the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area, Star Tours (if they are tall enough), the High School Musical show, and have lunch at Pizza Planet. If you're still there after lunch do the Great Movie Ride and/or the Backlot Tour and watch the parade.

I find it easier being alone with my kids at MGM, the attractions are mostly the show-kind and there are no worries about sitting 3 across or who rides with who.

Here's what I would do: Put them in the Neverland Club, and go out by yourself!!! ha-ha!!!!

If that doesn't work for you, I'm with everyone else about MK. If you want something lower-key, you could go to Downtown Disney and hit the McDonald's and the Lego Store. The BIG World of Disney is there, but I lose myself in there. I'd be a nervous wreck with the kids. However, the Once Upon a Toy is fun and reasonable. Try making their own lightsabers. VERY cool. DTD would save you a park entrance and take up several hours. Couple that with an afternoon at the hotel pool and you're golden.

ETA: Or rent a surrey bike at the Boardwalk, bike around a bit, then get ice cream and sit on the boardwalk....I'll think of more. I had my 5yo last time when my hubby got tired out and ditched us several afternoons. Don't worry--it's not that hard to keep them occupied and yourself sane. I'll keep noodling....

We just got back from WDW with our 3 year old and did a day at MK, followed by a "low-key" day (ADRs at Chef Mickey's and hanging out at DTD), and then back to MK. All of Fantasyland is great for preschoolers, although we stayed away from Snow White. And, when my 3 year old just wanted to play, we went to Toontown and he climbed all over the play areas and Donald's Boat. He couldn't wait to go back to MK after we had been there that first day!
