How far in advance can I find out what rooms I'm going to get at the All Star Sports? I've made quite a few requests, and am anxious to know what I will and won't get. I'm leaving on May 1st (so soon!!!!). Do they just place you when you get down there, or could I find out a few days in advance? Also, should I call again to confirm that all my requests are still listed on my reservation, or will bothering them too much be bad? Thanks!

You will not know what you will get until you actually check in. If you had them in your reservation, then they will be reviewed a couple days before your arrival and they will make an attempt to honor as many as possible.

If you made your ressie directly with Disney, then you can call to confirm that they are in your reservation. However, if I recall correctly, the comments may also be on your conformation. (I may have to verify that myself, though...)

Keep in mind that requests are never guaranteed.

You said that you made quite a few requests. What kind of requests did you make? I ask because usually the best way to get what you would like is to list no more than 2 or 3 requests and they should be reasonably obtainable.

I made reasonable requests. Adjoining rooms (i'm traveling with another party) the kind that has the door in the middle, 2 double beds in each room and I requested to be in Surfs Up or Touchdown! Buildings. I know that nothing is for sure, can I call Disney and "rank" the choices? If it comes down to two connecting rooms not in touchdown or surfs up, that's more important to me than being close to the main dining hall. Having 2 double beds is also important, as there are 4 people in one room..we couldn't all fit in a king size bed!!!! I also requested a fridge, for free, because my friend has diabetes and needs her medication refridgerated (though i don't think that's a hard request to fufill)... did i request too much>

Those are reasonable requests and yes you should rank them. You can do so in the reservation notes. Just call your TA (Disney or otherwise) to notate them in order.

As for adjoining rooms, is the other party you are traveling with under your reservation or separate reservations? If separate ressies, you will have to have them linked somehow or they will not know how to deal with that request when they start blocking off the rooms for you. Talk to your TA about how that should be noted in the ressies.

2 beds is not going to be a problem since that is the configuration of the vast majority of the rooms in the resort. Besides, they should have the names of all the people on your reservation so they are not going to put you in a room (or rooms) that will not accommodate all of your party.

You will have to double check about the fridge when you check in. Some report that it will be there the moment you arrive to your room and sometimes you will have to have maintenance bring it right after arrival. If your room is not available at check in you, and if the meds need to be kept cold at that time, you can ask the front desk to hold the meds for you.

Thanks so much! Our reservations are linked already, so hopefully we will get what we want!!

We stayed at Riverside in January, and had a request in to Disney reservations for a room close to the facilities, since my wife was recovering from a broken foot. The person on the phone couldn't have been more unprofessional. She kept giggling with somone sitting near her. I didn't trust her to have actually input the request, so I called POR directly. They were very nice, and said that they couldn't take requests until a week before the arrival date. So I called a week before we left and made the request. Unfortunately, they completely ignored the request when they assigned our room, which led to big problems and a room move that's already been well-documented on these boards.

Bottom line - call the resort directly a week before you leave to be sure that they have your request.

Not to contradict your suggestion, but they will not know about your arrival but a few days beforehand. At the same time, when we tried calling the resort (also POR) directly to verify the requests, we were told they could not help and were connected back to central reservations to verify that they were in the system. (They were.)

If you have an issue with a reservations person, either hang up and call back (which you will get a different person) or ask for a supervisor to politely report the issue. Never accept unprofessional behavior from anyone but do report it in a calm, professional manner.

Also, if you're making a request for a medical reason - make sure and state that. (But only if it's true!)
