Hey, was hoping to find out some info for one of the dance teachers at my daughters studio. They are going the second week in October and she was asking me about Fireworks and Fantasmic. Are they run only on Friday and Saturdays? Are they ever on Sunday in October?
Is it possible to do Fireworks and Fantasmic one right after the other?
They will be in the parks Sun-Thrusday but want to see both, so they need to know in case they need to change their fly in date.
Any info if you can would be great!! :)

In October 2007 ( http://www.laughingplace.com/guide-cal-DLR2-200710.asp) the Firework show and two Fantasmic shows were shown every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. (The official DL calendar ( http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/calendar/monthly/monthly?name=CalendarMonthlyPage&bhcp=1) for October should be available in June.)

It is possible (and fairly doable) to see the Fireworks and the second Fantasmic.

The Good
I have heard that the best way is to watch the Fireworks in the hub (near the Frontierland entrance) and then after the Fireworks walk through Frontierland to see the second Fantasmic. Another way would be to watch the Fireworks from the Main Street Train Station, and then take the train to the New Orleans station to see the second show. IMO it's better to watch the Fireworks from the hub, so I would recommend the first option.

Here are brief descriptions from two people who have done this:

Here is one option:
"... it is not very hard to see the late Fantasmic showing. We saw the Fireworks in the hub from over in front of the Frontierland entrance (on the left side of the hub as you face the castle). After the Fireworks end you just head through Frontierland. One thing of which to be aware is that DL usually sets up a traffic management system in the hub before the Fireworks start. This system in my experience directs everyone counter-clockwise around the hub in a one-way traffic lane. After the Fireworks they try to keep this going for awhile and hence if you are too far away from the Frontierland entrance you might have to go against one-way traffic to get there which might be difficult. My advice is before the Fireworks start ask one of the CMs who directs traffic in the hub where you should be in order to make it to Frontierland and Fantasmic and go with that."

Here is a second (lesser) option:
"... you can choose to watch the Fireworks from the Main Street Train Station. I like to just stand up on the first platform. If you choose to watch the fireworks from this location, you need to understand that you will miss out on some of the special effects that can be seen from the Hub area. Once the Fireworks show is over, you can jump on the train to New Orleans Square (1st stop). You should be able to pretty easily find a good spot for the second Fantasmic show."

The Bad
It's also possible to see the first Fantasmic show and then watch the Fireworks from the Fantasmic area. But IMO the Fireworks are best viewed from the hub, and seeing the Fireworks from the Fantasmic area isn't a very good option.

And The Ugly
The absolute worst option would be going to the first Fantasmic and then afterward trying to walk to the hub to see the Fireworks. You would be walking through Adventureland with the people exiting Fantasmic and you would be interfering with the guests who patiently waited for the Fireworks. IMO it's not an option.

HTH :)

The really ugly, you can stake out a spot for the fireworks, only to have them cancelled due to winds. Oct-Dec are windy months.

We go in October every year! I love it...well...I love it anytime, but we went to Disneyland for our Honeymoon 15 years ago, and love to spend our anniversary there in mid-October.

Watching the fireworks and then heading over to catch the late show of Fantasmic works great. Tell her to bring a small blanket to hold thier spot!:)
