Hey guys!
We go to DL a ton during the year and just drive so I can just put my lanyards in the car but I'm going to WDW this summer. Last time I was there I didn't take them, but this summer I'm doing the college program and definetely want to have them. I'm really protective of them and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to pack them so they won't break on the plane. Just wondering if anyone else does this and can help :). Thanks!

When I take my pins on the plane I just pack them. I mean sandwich them between clothes, they seem to do ok. You could try putting them in bubble wrap or an envelope with the bubble wrap stuff in them? Just a thought.

I know this may seem like a hassle to remove them from the lanyards, but my friend bought a little CD case that zips up, added a piece of felt into each of the "pockets" and then pined her pins onto the pages. She put another peice of felt between each page so that backs didn't clank onto the pins behind (she has some older-style pins with metal backs). It turned out quite nice and it's a good, safe way to transport her pins around. She picks out a couple she wants to trade (if any) and puts them on her lanyard when she heads to the parks.
Just an idea.

OH! Sorry, I forgot to add. If you do a search for "Pin bags" or "pin cases" online, you can find some specially designed cases, sort of like what I was mentioning above.
Have fun during the college program. My best friend did that one summer and LOVED it - she's never forgotten all she learned and it helped her later with her flight attendant career at United. Best of luck!

We use the old plastic lunchboxes they used to give out for the kids meals. They're just the right size. The ones with the comics on the side.

Thank you everybody! I didn't think of some of those ideas. I've broken pins before and it makes me sad and I end up spending even more money to replace them (because each of my pins kinda has a story behind it). Thanks for all the help! Hope to see some of you there this summer ;)!

When I went in December I took my pins in my carry on. I have heard from one to many pin collectors at DL that their pins went missing when packing them in their checked luggage. I had my good trading pins on their cards and slide into baseball card sheets and those were in binders. My in park trading pins were bagged individually in small ziplocks then put inside a larger bag. Since I was the only one handling the bags I wasn't too worried about them being tossed under the plane to be damaged.
