Can anyone who's (relatively) recently been to 'Ohana for breakfast give me a sense of what the menu was like? MousePlanet doesn't appear to have data, and AllEarsNet was a little vagure--for example, does anyone know what "assorted sweet breads" actually includes?

We were there in September. The sweet rolls were gobbled up by DH and DS, but I did get a smidgen of a coconut bread that was to die for, and there were some cinnamon rolls as well. You also get a fresh fruit plate with melon, strawberries and grapes, also all devoured by DH and DS. This breakfast is "family style", meaning they bring out a huge skillet of everything and you serve yourself. It has:scrambled eggs w/cheese, sausage, bacon, seasoned potatoes and Mickey waffles. I am pretty sure there were two kinds of sausage, and IMHO, these are the best scrambled eggs at WDW! This is the one meal I am not allowed to play with, we have to have breakfast here every time we go. Did notice the last time we were there, the Mickey waffles were not in the skillet, they were brought out to order, one at a time. I personally blame my DH for this, because the time before, he ate so many of them I am pretty sure our server thought he was stuffing them in my purse for later!

We were there in August and everything that dahunter says is correct, however, I recall the sweet bread having some fruit in it as well...could be wrong. It was a good time for my DS as he liked the march and characters.

Have a magical trip

It's absolutely wonderful!!! The family style is our favorite way to go.

Try to book, if you haven't done so, because it's hard to get into especially the time of year you are going.

Go to www.disboards.com and click on Disney Restauants and there is a sticky thread with food pictures (which we affectionately call food porn ;)). You'll have to scoll and browse for a while, but there are several pictures of O'hana's breakfasts. Yum, yum!!

Thanks for all your responses! I have an ADR for September and am relieved to hear that Mickey waffles are available.

I would recommend Kona Cafe over 'Ohana for breakfast. Kona has a special dish called Tonga Toast, which is a big block of sourdough bread, fried, covered in cinnamon, and filled with banana! I have found 'Ohana to be okay for breakfast, whereas I think Kona Cafe is truly exceptional. Go to 'Ohana for dinner, which is amazing.

Another 2 thumbs up for Tonga Toast!! DH loves it so much it's our traditional Christmas breakfast now! And the desserts at Kona Cafe...a perfect way to end a day at Disney!

We have an ADR for a Character Breakfast at Ohana (Polynesian Resort) in August. I've looked online at the menu and some pictures of Ohana at breakfast time, but I still have some questions. Has anyone been to Ohana for breakfast recently? What characters are there and do they all visit the tables? In some pictures, I noticed that there's a photo area set up. Is there an additional charge for these pictures? What are the most current menu items? For example, my son does not like eggs. Are there other child friendly foods like waffels and/or pancakes? Cold cereal? Thanks for your help! :)
