I am going on a long trip to Disneyland in August and my family was looking at something that looked like a Disney Dining thingy. So.... what is it, where can you eat in the parks and downtown disney, how much is it per person- one is, 46, 16, and 13, how does it work, and is it worth it? All feedback will be awesome thanks

There is a plan, but it is not discounted. If you have a Disney Visa or AAA, it will actually cost you more than if you used those cards. Also, It limits where you eat (places in DTD are not included.) I would not recommend it.

do you know what places they offer it and how many ticket things you get a day?

Using this for analysis:
Donald's 3 Days of Disney Dining Plan
8 Disney Dining choices per person.
Adult/Junior $93.90
1 – Character Breakfast $32
1 – Breakfast in the Park - $10.50 (I think)
3 – Snack Vouchers - $15
2 – $10 Meal Vouchers
1 – $15 Meal Voucher

Notice, there are NO discounts to this plan. If you used the 10% off with AAA for the character breakfast (15% for PAP) you will see you actually lose money on the plan.

The vouchers are "No Change" vouchers, meaning, the $5 snack voucher will not return you change if you buy a churro for $3, so you have to buy 3 and pay another dollar, or not get change and lose the $2. IF your breakfast is less than the $10.50, you don't get the change. Breakfast coupons can be use at the certain restaurants. The meal vouchers can be used at any restaurant in DL, DCA, or the hotels. NOT in DTD.

We did this once and it was a mess. We were traveling with a bunch of teenagers and it was easy to hand them the coupons for the day and be done with it but when I calculated at the end- we lost between $15 and $30 per person. It was not a good idea!

We've done the dining plan at WDW twice and it's totally worth it but I'd skip it at DL. We'll just hand the teenagers cash next time and tell them too bad if they're hungry!

I like getting the Disney gift card and then my kids spend that on what they want.

I did Disney Dollars. And, I required receipts.

After using Disney Dining at WDW, my family of 4 decided to try it for DL. As mentioned above it was not worth it. You end up buying more than you want due to the "no change" coupons. We actually ended up splitting the coupons between 2 trips. Too much of a hassle and a waste of money IMO.

I really like it. My fellow padders are correct in that it doesn't provide a discount or that one can't receive change if the vouchers go over your total, BUT it really helps with budgeting. Kinda like prepaying for your food.

We use the vouchers to put toward our meals. We can usually get pretty close to the amount only putting in a couple of dollars to make up the difference.

The gratuity is already included in the vouchers for character meals and I find that especially helpful.

For me, the dining plan works out great! :)

We have never used the Dining Plan but if you are wanting to pre-pay for meals for budget reasons, Disney Dollars and gift cards are the way to go.

We purchased Disney Dollars over the course of a few months leading up to our trip. They paid for all of our meals and snacks.

The gift cards are great too but you can't use them at the snack carts.

I have mixed feelings about it. I think a lot of it depends on the ages of your kids (if you have them). If they are old enough to spend time away from you, it is a great option.

It also helps with the "Can I get another churro???" syndrome...you can say..."I don't know...can you?"

WDW - I think it is almost always a must.
