If you purchase a 3 day Park Hopper Bonus listed online now for $169 - at the end of the 3 days - will you be able to trade straight across for a So Cal Annual Pass that is also listed for $169. I know they would pre-date the AP to the first day of the 3DPHB so that's not a problem. Its the equal for equal.
PS - we're looking at trip dates June 7-9. It's a post big garage sale trip.:)

It is my understanding that the AP has to be higher in price than the pass... so I'm not sure if you can do it for equal value. If not, you can add a parking pass or stroller pass to your AP to make it a true "up"grade pricewise.

They will do equal value just not lessor value. You can trade a hopper you paid 169 for straight across for a So Cal AP provided you can prove you have a residence in the zip codes allowed to purchase the hopper AND the hopper is still valid. You can not go back a few days later and trade that hopper for a pass, upgrades must be done while the hopper is still good.
Black out passes are 40 dollars, upgrade to a Deluxe is 90 dollars.

Thanks much. The trip is tentative juggling schedules and guests. Wanted to be prepared in the event I have to make final decsions soon.

Big Hint, bring the receipt for the purchase of the ParkHopper, it will make the conversion to an AP a LOT easier.....

Why wouldn't you upgrade it? Even with all of the blackouts it would still be worth it since it wouldn't cost anything. I would say even if you don't use it again it wouldn't matter. You at least have the option throughout the year.

And you can always upgrade it later, if your second trip includes blockout dates. "No Money Down", well, no Extra money down, and full credit for amount paid if you do want to upgrade at a later date. No Brainer.

This has been discussed a lot of times but Darkbeer is dead on...we did a trip over spring break, took my niece. I have no plans to take my niece back again this season but I 'upgraded' her hopper to a so cal anyway as a 'layaway' in case I change my plans. I'll upgrade her to a deluxe if we take her back down but even if we don't we got full value out of her hopper so no regrets.
