As a first-time DCL cruiser I was wondering how the dining rotation works. When do you find out where you will be dining each night? I am wondering this so that if we decide to make a reservation for Palo I don't want to miss out on enjoying each of the regular dining places with our DD's. We will be on a 4 night cruise.
Thank you for any help!! :geek:
You don't know what your rotation will be until you check in at the port. You key card will show the rotation in a code like ATPP (Animators, Tritons, Parrot Cay, Parrot Cay). That is where you will be each night of the cruise.
A lot of people have asked DCL to let them know early what roation they are on - but DCL has always declined to provide that info. If you really want to know what the rotation is, wait until you board, and then head directly to Wavebands to book Palo. You'll know your rotation, and can figure out the best day to go to Palo.

I debated whether to book Palo for our four-night cruise, and decided not to bother, for this trip. It's our first Disney cruise, so we have not dined at any of the on-board restaurants, yet. For a future cruise, we'll do an adult dinner there. After the cruise, we will be spending a few days at WDW, and we are having a grown-up dinner at the California Grill, with friends, so we will get some time away from the kids. There is a fair chance that, for at least one night, my kids might choose to do the kids' clubs instead of our late dinner seating (I plan to feed them around 5), so we may not have to respond to our kids during dinner every night of the cruise.
Thanks so much for the information! I guess we will just wait to make any plans or not. We are just excited to be going on the cruise!
