Hello, everyone. We're going to Disneyland on April 24 and on my sister's "to do" list is to have a drink (wine) at the Grand Californian Hotel. I tried looking around on the internet for wine lists but I couldn't find any. (The Disney website alludes to "$10 - $20 per person" but I'm not quite sure what that means.) I'm just trying to avoid a "sticker shock" situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The wine list is very good, but mostly pretty expensive. plan on spending at least $7-$10 a glass. It it completely worth it, though -- both the restaurant and lounge are beautiful, and the food is wonderful. Enjoy!

Thanks, very much! We can handle $7-10 a glass. We have some friends here in Santa Rosa, CA; who just had drinks and appetizers at a local restaurant (she couldn't remember the name) and wine was $17 a glass! I was just afraid of something like that. :)

Depending on your choice, Napa Rose would have some vintages that might seem "excessive" in price. Never hesitate to ask your server for a recommendation. They might offer something that would be perfect for your budget.

I'd be surprised if you will find too many, if any $7 glasses at Napa Rose. I think even $10 is hard. The average is $12 to $15.

I have to say we were disappointed with the wine in Anaheim. We hoped tobuy a few bottles for our room for Happy Hour and were totally disappointed. I went to 4 places before I could even find a half-way decent chardonnay. I found a couple of bottles that are generally goo 12-14 dollar wines tha twe get in the East, but they were corked and were undrinkable. Then I went on a search for someplace else to buy a decent bottle of chardonnay. The last place I went explained that their customers in Anaheim were mostly Hispanics and wine was not important to the culture. I expected so much more from California in the way of wines! I hope the hotels are different.

Where did you go? Liquor stores?
Of course, I don't like Chardonnay so I can't speak much from that experience but I regularly find great Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Grigios at grocery stores and specialty markets like Trader Joe's, World Market, etc.

The Hearthstone Lounge (is that the right name?) in the Grand Californian might offer other (cheaper?) alternatives to the wines by the glass from the Napa Rose lounge. And personally, I think it's a little prettier with all that wood!
