DH and DS (4mos.) and I will be staying at SSR 5/3-5/10 for the first time since buying in approx. 16 mos. ago.

Anyone have any bldg. or room recommendations we should request? We'll have our own car, so closeness to the bus stop isn't an issue.

I've never stayed there. If I was staying there, I'd want to be near the Golf Pro Shop which has a nice restaurant above it. This location is right next to the boat dock where you can catch a ride to Downtown Disney. Even if you have a car, I think it would be easier to just board the boat.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, SS is an absolutely gigantic, sprawling compound. You might want to review a map and think about what you'd like to be near.

The Springs is the closest to the main pool/lobby/restaurants/spa/arcade, etc., but be aware that it is actually the last stop on the bus loop to the parks, so the buses may be packed in the mornings before they get to you. From other areas, you can grab any bus going to the parks, and just get off at the Springs stop, to use any of the amenities in that area. We've stayed twice, and the first time, last year, we were in Congress Park. Even though it is pretty far from the main building area, it was easy to walk to Downtown Disney, which was really nice when we had dinner ressies at other hotels, because the trail takes you right by the Marketplace bus stop. I'm blanking on the area we just stayed in, but we were right by a bus stop and a quiet pool, and it was only a few minutes to walk to the main pool.
