Looks like they've done it Free dining details (http://www.mousesavers.com/packages.html#visafreedining) on mousesavers. Right now it's just for Disney Visa cardholders, but they usually open it up a few days after for the general public.

Thursday April 10th for the general public. DIS has the codes listed-as does Mary's site above. I can't use it but I passed along the codes to my boss who IS going in September and she's super excited:).

We booked yesterday for September 7 through 16. The same dates we were planning for Disneyland, but this is a much better value!!!

Because we are being strict on the budget we chose the French Quarters. Are we going to be disappointed?

Not sure what you're used to from past trips-deluxes only?? FQ gets high marks most of the time. What amenities are you used to? As the smallest mod, most enjoy that-but it doesn't have a sit-down ts like the other mods. And the rooms are smaller than deluxes-and only double beds rather than queens. It's my 1st choice to try when dh and I go back.

And I agree packages like this are making me think twice about a DLR trip....

Congrats to a KU fan btw:)

:):):):) Rock Chalk!!! I am so very very happy!

In the past we have stayed at and loved the Poly, but that is nearly $2000 more and the Wilderness is $1000 more. I just cannot justify that. It will be my dh, 6 year old dd, and then 23 month old ds. Will the room be big enough?

I already have justified getting only a full size car and having either my dh or I take the kids via the Express with some of the luggage and the other bring the rest of the luggage with the car bec. we certainly don't need a SUV while there.

As I have posted multiple time, I think POFQ is the best value at WDW.

Why bother getting a rental car? I stayed at POFQ for seven nights in 2004 and used Disney Transportation exclusively. I had no problems.

I rented a car for a 2006 trip. It was nice, but probably not worth the extra expense. Even though I had a car, it was much more convenient to ride the bus to MK. Of course, this a topic all to itself.

We changed our trip to 10 nights, September 7 to 17.

With a toddler that needs naps we thought it more convenient than having to take a bus back. But good to know about the MK busing.

Also we are planning on the beach, SeaWorld and M&MWorld and if we need to go get waters, snacks, etc.

Found a mid size on hotwire for under $200 for the 10 days so I think it would be worth it. I would hate to be there and wish for a car....

I think it was a post from you that said FQ bus system was much better than CBR. AND I think it was another post from you that convinced me to that the FQ was a good resort.

We're booked :) We're staying at Pop Century (it's an extra trip, so we have to watch the budget, even with the free dining).

Yeah, that is how we felt, the extra money we could spend can pay the mortgage for the month!!! :D:D

Note to all: Make those ADRs as soon as possible with the free dining going public tomorrow. Le Cellier was booking up fast for September 7 - 17.

Sigh. I would really love to book the free dining promotion but have not been to WDW since the 70's and already have a trip planned to SSR in November with DVC points. Don't think I can justify another trip timewise that close together . . . . not to mention the $$$$$$

maybe next year I can plan my DVC trip (I bought in to force myself to go on vacation!) a little later and ALSO go for the free dining!

Question for you veterans: isn't it awfully hot and humid in Aug-Sept. (which is why there is free dining to begin with)? Just how hot and humid is it? (I'm not sure I could stand it anyway! maybe I'm just justifying . . . . )

Wow . . . . this is very tempting. I already have plans to go to Hawaii but I love free dining and that time of year with no crowds!

August and September are VERY hot and humid, and it's also hurricane season, so a lot of people don't like to travel to the areas potentially impacted by them. Plus schools are re-starting.

Also, Toocherie, I don't think you can stay on DVC points and get the free dining, so keep that in mind if you decide to 'risk it' for next year.

I travelled in September of 2006 in the middle of the hot and humid season and I felt it was more than doable. The lack of crowds make staying outside a lot easier since you are not forced to wait for a lot of things, food lines are shorter, bus lines shorter, etc. My onyl concern would be hurricanes.

Just as a side note, as I mentioned in the Park Update (http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=wd080407mg), I had the free dining codes up on my blog (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/blog.php?u=4084) first thing in the morning on Monday (Disney Visa) (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/blog.php?b=124) and today (general public) (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/blog.php?b=133). I actually had the general public codes on there briefly on Monday, but Sue asked me to take them down. Recent staff blog entries are also now syndicated to the MousePlanet front page, so the general public codes are actually linked from the front page at the moment.

In other words, MousePlanet had all of the information right up front, and you didn't need to go trolling other sites to get it. :p

Yep--knew that, but thanks for the reminder. Was thinking of staying on cash at a resort I wouldn't normally be able to stay at . . . . .

...Just how hot and humid is it?

It's so hot that (...insert your own joke here...)!!! Really, there's nothing quite like Florida heat. The high humidity just traps the heat in and feels completely oppressive. I was just there this past week, and temps on my arrival were around 87 or so, but with that high humidity it was extremely unpleasant. I'm from Dallas, so I'm no stranger to the heat. But the Florida heat is simply unacceptable to me (for park storming anyway - and I plan to retire there someday!).

WOOT!!!! I am just so excited, I had to share with all my mousepad friends!!! So, I posted last year about a trip to WDW, staying off site (parent's have a time share in Kissemee). Well, I got them to see the light, and we're staying onsite!!!!

I bit the bullet and contacted Small World Vacations, and Terri there is a total dream to work with. She worked up a quote for 3 families (9 people total) at the All Star Music, including Disney Dining for FREE and then switched us over today to the Port Orleans Riverside. I tell you, I'm so excited I could burst! :D

We were going to go in Oct, but now arrive 9/20 to take advantage. Seems like for free, it just can't be beat. And, somehow, I managed to snag lunch at Cindy's for 9 of us!

I can't thank all of you mouseplanet posters for all that you ask and answer. I've been researching away for months, and it really paid off. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Jennie :D

One question. If I arrive 9/20 and book w/ the free dining, is it good for the duration of my stay, or only for that first day?

We did just that, and it is good for the duration of your stay!
