Hi there. In planning our upcoming June trip, I ran into a question about the possibility of eating on the Disney buses. Is that allowed? I'm thinking if we grab our breakfast "to go" from our room and head to the bus stop to wait and don't quite finish it before the bus gets there, are we allowed to take and eat food on the bus trip? What about coffee or drinks? I have some of those disposable coffee cups with lids we've always used at DL as we walk over from a good neighbor hotel and am wondering if those are allowed on the buses as well. Thanks for all who share their experiences!

We heard several bus drivers remind people that there was no eating, drinking or smoking allowed. One even stopped someone who was boarding and would not let them on until they had their food put away.
That being said, I brought my resort refillable mug on the bus from POR in the morning on several das without any problem.

My experiences were similar to MODB's. Its one of those things that may vary by driver but I would say the safe assumption is to go by the policy - no drinking and eating is allowed.

I've been asked by a driver to finish or toss my coffee before getting on the bus more than once.

That's what I was afraid of - thanks for the info!

Yes, enforcement may vary but there are signs on every bus that say no drinking, eating or smoking.

Our bus driver allowed drinks as long as it had a lid.

Let me start by saying that I drive a bus at Disney. There are several reasons we ask that you refrain from eating or drinking on a bus.
1 - Drinks in open cups may spill not just on you but on others and that would spoil their day. Once a soft drink dries on the seats or floor of the bus it becomes very sticky and hard to clean and the bus must be taken out of service just to clean it.
2- Food can also spill and believe it or not the smell of some food can upset some when riding on a bus or auto.
For the most part a bus driver will use common sense when it come to food and drinks. Bottles of water yes, all you can carry. Bottled soft drinks usually. Bottled beer or other adult bev. NEVER. Ice cream cones, bars or cups, NO. Popcorn usually.

apopkamike, I was just wondering, are you allowed to accept tips from passengers? I know in Vegas complimentary shuttle bus drivers do accept and even welcome the tips. Just curious.

GREAT Advice! I gave the same on a thread about bringing food onboard an airplane -- of course, people can bring it on board, but you gotta be careful what you bring, no one wants to be trapped in there smelling greasy food or onions for a couple hours!!
