I've been to Disney World with service dogs in training many many times and I'm familiar with their procedures. This is the first time that I'll be visiting Disneyland and I'll be there with my own service dog.
I went on the official site, but found no specific information regarding these dogs. Is there anyone here who can help with:
1. Exact location of approved potty areas
2. Rides that will not allow service dogs
3. Specific shots needed
I'm very concerned about the exact location for potty areas (trying to plan on being near one after doggie mealtime. Also, if there is someone here with experience, I'd like to know which ones to avoid. (In WDW there are some nasty ones with debris, glass and long grass.)
Thanks so much :-)

Thanks so much :-)Hi,
We travel with Service Dogs in Training to Disneyland several times a year. It is GREAT. Potty Spots: Any grassy area is acceptable. There are small fences around these areas, however, if you look closely, there are gates into most of them, although there is usually a bench in front of it. There are trash cans right there also for easy, quick clean up. Main St is probably easiest,, but there are also areas in NOS near the train station, in Tomorrowland around Innoventions, Fantasyland in several spots, ToonTown back by Gadgets Go Coaster. Finding one close by has never been an issue. I haven't been to WDW, so can't compare, but the areas in DL are clean. If you have problems being able to clean up after the dog yourself, just let a CM know and they will get someone to help you.
Rides: If the ride has a height requirement, the dog can't ride, even if they are tall enough. (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q133/Malcon10t/PismoMeasuresup.jpg) You will need to use the HA entry for most rides. (No fastpasses in DL because of this.) Some rides (all of Toontown, Buzz) are HA and no special entry is needed. Nemo you will get 2 extra seats for the dog. (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q133/Malcon10t/LaceySub-1.jpg) All rides require the dog to ride lying on the floor. On boats, the dog and handler will be loaded into row one and the dog needs to lie under the "hull" of the boat.
Be forewarned, some characters are afraid of dogs. We have had a very scared Minnie before. Be prepared for some cute pictures though!
(http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q133/Malcon10t/LaceyandDumbo.jpg)Some characters will really get into it though (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q133/Malcon10t/PismoPluto.jpg)!
Shots: We travel with full shot records. You will only need to show them (rabies, distemper, parvo) if you kennel the dog.

Thanks so much! What is NOS? I'm not familiar with this abbreviation.
Making note to self: Train Jack to stretch when he leans on the height meter.

Love the Dumbo pic~ Some friends went with friends this weekend who also have a service dog in training and they said Dumbo was the dog's favorite ride! She was actually kind of listless and tired at the end of the day and when they got to Dumbo to do as a "last ride of the day" she immediately perked up and started wagging her tail!! Wish I had been there to see that!
