We have been waiting on funds to finally come in to buy our passes for DL (CDN Music Festival) and we have never been to Knotts and so we want to go there as well. Would we do better buying the DL passes thru Disney and wait to pay at the gate for Knotts? Or should we try getaway today for both? Do they even send stuff up here? And will we have them before April 23? (Nothing like leaving it to the almost last minute hey?!)
Thanks!

Hi there. We just went with getaway for our trip this last Feb. We usually use AAA, do it yourself and then tried getaway.

They are awesome! They send the tickets and a free gift to your home all packaged so nicely. When you buy through them you get 2 EE's, and a discount book. I think I remember seeing add on tix for your other interests...if you price out your total on getaway and try to price it yourself...I am sure you will see a nice savings.

Good luck and have fun!
-Christine :)

We planned a trip through Getawaytoday early last week, and we had the hotel and ticket vouchers within a few days. I don't see why they can't send to Canada, although you would have to ask them. The ticket price was the same as DL's price. One thing you might want to consider is a "city pass". Depending on how long you plan on staying in the park and what else you want to do, it can be a real bargain. One year my husband and I actually used the city pass to spend 3 days in the park and also visited Universal, Knotts, and Wild Animal Park. The only one we loved was the Animal Park, but we're not big roller coaster fans. (If you want the full 5 days in the park with the buy 3 get 2 option, you have to buy DL tickets, I believe. The fast pass won't cover this. Getaway today tickets come with all standard DL ticket amenties, including extra days and early entries).

We have used both and they are very good. We have also used AAA. I check all three and go with whichever one offers me the best rate on the hotel I need. They get blocks of rooms and may sell out some places faster than others. I think they are all equal in price and service.

Getaway did save our family vacation one year and I can't thank them enough for that. We were booked at a popular place and it was apparent the first night that it was not right for our family. They immediately booked us elsewhere (while we were at the park playing and called me on my cell phone) and only a $50 hotel change fee. If I had prepaid elsewhere or reserved on my own I think I would have been stuck. They were able to do this for me on the busiest week of the year between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

It is fun to get all the little extras too like the pins, lanyards, coupons and magical mornings from the agencies.

While I do recommend you shop around, it seems places like GetAway Today, AAA, Costco and other travel agencies tend to offer lower prices and/or more perks, even though they all get their packages from the Walt Disney Travel Company.

So compare, but I would have no problems with any of the big companies mentioned above, since they just by the WDTC packages in bulk and then resell them.

Getawaytoday.com has the cheepest packages, period. When you throw in the dual MM/EE's, they can't be beat. Not even WDT gives you that.

Just a warning on Knotts. When we went last year, I hadn't been since I was kid. The magic is not there. My son fell down some stairs right in front of a cast member; the guy didn't even budge. If you've been raised on Disney, you will have a hard time stomaching that park.

We have used getawaytoday many times and really like them. Recently, we have just been getting the hotel through them and ordering the tickets elsewhere. You still get the same hotel price without buying a package.

If anyone is going after April 28, I have checked a lot of places, and so far ARES Travel has the best ticket price at $164 for 3-day.

Thanks everyone! We did order tix thru getaway today. We want to see Knotts because we have never been there before. Just to be able so say yup been there kinda thing.
We didnt grow up Disney (too bad) the first time I ever went to DL was for one day '99, 01, 03, and finally last year we stayed down there for a couple for weeks and was able to get our time at DL, with an additional day at the end of March.
The closest thing we have is Galaxyland in West Edmonton Mall and Calaway (sp) Park down by Calgary, I have never been there tho. . .
Thanks again!

I have to admit...we love Knotts...but we go KNOWING that it's not close to Disney's caliber. But they have some very FUN roller coasters! We love coasters...so it's a lot of fun. You just have to go knowing that the people that work there are not even close to as friendly as Disney CMs. Also the park won't be as nice and clean. If you go knowing that and not expecting Disney, you won't be disappointed.

Whoa, I booked thru Getawaytoday and didn't even realize that two EE's are included. Where does it say this?
