My son and I spent this past Tuesday at Legoland (AP holders) and I finally took the time to see the Life on Mars show - my bad! Do yourselves a favor and skip this monstrosity. We sat in the front row and I ended up feeling so embarrassed for the performers that I had to blur my vision so that I wouldn't have to witness it any longer and they wouldn't notice that I had been looking at my feet during their show. At the end of the performance no one knew whether to clap or just get up and run - I ran. Steps in Time at DCA kept my attention longer than this one.

But the Fireworks Wed. Night were MASSIVE!
And admission just $25...oh...and that INCLUDES a full season pass!
ONE adult admission for 25 bucks gets you in as many times as you want till Dec. 25th.
So skip the Mars show and ride Technic and enjoy the other 128 acres free...till Christmas!
I can't believe it's my neighborhood theme park...

Oh...ignore this....I'm not here.

Doodle, I also enjoyed those fireworks, but free from the parking lot.

I didn't hear about this promotion. Is that for all ages?

From the parking lot you missed all the BIG and LOW stuff..and there was lots of that!
The pass deal is for adults...they call it the parents pass...though if you don't have kids it can vbe the grandparents pass..or the ride freak pass...etc.
Can't buy one for kids. So it's a great deal for a nice late afternoon/early dinner and a place to hang.
See ya there!

Doodle, thanks for the info. Have to mull that one over, we do Legoland occassionally for the kids. I can't see going there without them (the fun for me is watching 'em do stuff). Having said that, its good to have all the info and I couldn't find this anywhere on the net, so thanks!

As for the fireworks, saw SOME low stuff (especially near the end, it was excellent) and some big stuff. Not sure what you mean. If you were in the park, how do you know what people in the parking lot saw?

I will admit that there were parts of the show that I felt that I might have been missing something. But, we had a pretty good view and unless they were shooting them up your nose and blowing them off in your head, we probably saw most of it.;)

Anyway, the price was right. (I know, you get what you pay for).

As to 'position'..it was a 'task' to find the ideal spot...the two rental trucks just beyond the fence behind the airplane ride in Fun Town gave it away. IF you were anywhere else but a high position (ie: On the roof of the Lego Shop in Mini-Land) you were blocked by trees and buildings etc. We planted right on the other side of that low fence. Even those in the 'grandstand' area of Fun Town for the Tribal Show were blocked from some of the big ones that went off low. Despite all that..it was a good one and wasn't it NICE to just drive home with out all the gridlock of the other locations!
San Diego is Fireworks Central with so many shows and such huge crowds at all events, this was a wonder.
Oh...from the parking lot..there was a great deal between any viewing of the Fireworks and the viewer.
Take a look next time your there.
Besides I like to be right under them and FEEL the detonations...OH YEAH!

loved the no traffic/gridlock:cool:

Can't disagree with your viewing opinions, but;) We saw a lot of fireworks (including low ones and big ones) and I would recommend the parking lot or along "Legodrive" to anyone looking for a good free show without a lot of traffic or prep time (left house at 8:30, got good seats, watch show, got home by 9:30).

Lego drive is perfect...that's the knoll where they shot them off!
BUT PLEASE NO one take this advise...stay away...
or at least if you come to Encinitas from out of town have the decency to pay your way in...better yet, if you're looking for a freebie...stay home...no gridlock...please...only us Encinitas bums can see them...neener..

Don't say that I never warned you Doodle. I spent the day at Legoland last Tuesday with my kids and luckily LOM was closed:D
The other great thing was that the park was pretty much empty all day and by the time 7:30pm rolled around I think we just may have been the only ones in the park!!!:D :D

I was afraid someone would eventually ask that!! He's actually giving my 2 year old son his undivided attention - and a great big hug - near Grizzly River Run @ DCA. The extra time the characters get to spend with the guests at DCA is one of my favorite things about that park.

I thought the 'blue' thing was a post or something in the parking lot...didn't know it was 'alive'! I'll change my glasses.
