So, do you ever think that you are obsessed with planning your trip? We are going in May and I seriously spend time everyday planning something, trying to decide what to do when. I think I am planning my DH crazy, showing him different character meals, trying to get him to weigh in an opinion and I have concluded he really doesn't care. Anyone else ever feel like they are in a bubble of trip planning that only you understand? I mean really, doesn't DH understand that there are substantial differences in character meals and yes it really does matter which ride the kids experience first? LOL!

I don't think you're obsessed...but we aren't going till Christmas and I spend every waking hour planning and every sleeping hour dreaming about what we should do!! Luckily my best friend loves to plan her Disney holidays too so we don't have to drive our husbands crazy!!! Enjoy your planning :D

LOL That's me. I've been at Borders buying almost any book I can find and listening to all kinds of podcasts. BTW the best so far is the mousestation podcast. It's my favorite and I've listened to many so far. The next up is WDW Radio podcast or something like that.

I've been planning our May trip since November of last year. Hubby just says whatever, he would rather play it be ear but I told him it's not like Disneyland and every book I've read says to plan ahead for best results.

Enjoy planning - Aloha

Oh you are not alone. Look at me, right now I'm planning to PLAN a trip LOL, I don't even have a trip in the works and I'm taking notes on what I need to remember to do/eat and see, now I think I'm obsessive LOL

I'm not quite so bad now as when I was a kid. When a Disneyland trip was coming up, my brothers and I would spend HOURS poring over the DL map, planning exact and to the minute directions for our attack. "9am - gates open, 9:10 - Matterhorn, 9:25 - Autopia", etc. Of course, the plan would only last about 30 minutes before something came up that we wanted to do, essentially destroying the plan. But that would never slow us down next time a trip was coming up!

Now I'll plan flight, car and hotel, of course, and then plan meals to fit which park I'm visiting on any given day. After that I just go with the flow and enjoy.

Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one. My husband thinks I need professional help when he sees me pouring over the books, the websites, the restaraunt menus...We're not even going until November!:geek:

I don't have any trips planned until next summer (Disneyland) and then the one in 2010 (WDW). I am planning NOW for both. So, um, no... I would say you aren't obsessed. I think I am. :geek:

Yeah...me, too! I drive my DH CRAZY with my scheduling. I've got the whole thing plotted out...at least as far as meals and shows. I can't relax without it. My biggest peeve when going to DL is hearing, "What do you wanna do now?" "I don't know...What do YOU wanna do now?" AAAARGH! I hate that. :~D

I can't even imagine trying to plan a trip to WDW. It is so big, I'd need to start planning now for a trip that would be 2 years away. That's how OCD I am. ;)

In fact, our next adventure is to Disneyland in October and I'm already starting. I seem to be more excited about going there than on our Disney Cruise on New Year's Eve...I've not EVEN planned for that one yet. That's not too strange, is it? Being more excited for DL than for a DL Cruise? I think I'll start a discussion on that... :)

I am going in May too and I feel the same way! I couldn't add or take anything away from what you said for it to fit me better. I am addicted to planning, MousePlanet, changing plans, and finding out about new things I didn't know about and freaking out about them and whether or not to do them, and so on.

I run things by DH as well, but know I will make the decisions and I keep warning him that he may not be able to hang with or handle me and my DD when we get to WDW, and he sayd he will be fine, but if he knew how obsessed I really was I think he would know now that he will not be able to handle us. We might have to leave him behind some day!

Same here! My family think I'm crazy. We don't go till August 2009 and I started planning. In fact, I've even started writing a book about Disney World because of how much I have researched!

I agree with the other posts. I am going down in Oct. and have been planning every portion of my trip. my grandson who is going with me thinks i'm crazy because I even plan out certain pictures that I have to be sure to take. I have photos of my kids in the same spots through all our vacations and it's fun to see how much they changed from trip to trip and I'm now doing the same thing with the grandkids.

Seems like our trip to DL was forever ago...not a couple months ago. But looking at the calendar today 2008's trip is only 6 months away! I'm jumping on the vaca plannin' train! All Aboard!!

For the planning addicts...u have def come to the right place! I found this website shortly before our trip last year and learned so much from you all!

When we started talking about this years trip planning....I knew where to go first!

So excited!! I have a vacation planned in june to vegas and I think im more excited about disneyland in the fall!!

I was still reading the planning books even after I came back from my last trip in June.
Of course I found all the planning, reading, etc. both before and after helped prolong the experience and fun. But then I am known to be occassionally obsessive...

I'm late...I'm late for a very important planning date!
Our Nov. vacation extravaganza is fastly approaching and I have not packed yet.
I'm with you, and all here.
I am obsessed.
Hi, my name is Kurt and I like WDW.

My family pretty much thinks I am nuts and a major :geek:. I enjoy all the planning though. The full week trips I usually plan what park we will be at each day and where we will eat for dinner and make the ADR's but do not plan the rides we will go on. At most we plan to hit our favorites and then do whatever we want, nothing is written in stone. When I do a short vacation, 4 days or so, it depends on why we are there. When my friend and I went to the F&WF we planned to mostly spend our time in Epcot for our events we signed up for and a side trip to MK. I only make ADR's when I have someplace specific we want to eat other wise we can eat where ever we are at the time, with 2 people who aren't overly picky it usually works out.
Kurt we will be there the same time as you!

That's a really cute idea:) This being my daughter's first trip, I will have to "plan" to do that on future trips:)

I wonder how many of us will be crossing paths in May (10-17)....we might walk past and never even know....I think that's kinda neat.

I'll have a MP button on my purse, so if you see a single gal with that - please say hi (the 10th is my last park day, though).

And, my first. What park? I think MK has won my "what park to do the first day" dilemma.

I plan everything and when I do have a trip coming up and my parents or boyfriend see me on the computer automatically they say "are you on mouseplanet?"

So they know how crazy I am. But I am not alone!! :)

Not sure about the morning. But I have ADRs at the Grand Floridian (Citricos) for dinner and was thinking about hitting the MK for fireworks and Spectromagic after.

(As you can tell, I don't do a lot of planning for my solo trips - and this is a short one before the cruise. THAT I'm starting to obsess about, because I've never been on one at all!)

30 days until we arrive at the World. planed ONE dinner, have an idea for 2 lunches, thats it. how can you enjoy your trip with all of these deadlines to meet? isn't life at home like that? why would you spend all of that money to get there , and act like it's just another day of the week at home? what if your fast pass for Sorin clashes with the ADR, skip food, or wait another 800 hours for another one? is the vacation a success if the time table is met and all of the items are crossed off the list ? we like to be spontanious and enjoy whatever comes at us. i guess i don't really understand all of the micro managing.
