We're heading to WDW in just a little over two weeks, and a few months ago I made reservations for the Comfort Inn--LBV from Expedia for $55/night. The majority of the reviews were positive... I felt like it was a steal since it includes free breakfast and shuttles 7-8x/day to the MK. They also have mini-fridges and microwaves in each room. (We only plan to be in our room for sleeping and showers!!)

Has anyone stayed here recently? Any thoughts??

I've stayed in this hotel more than once, with great success. I really like the location - you just about can't be any closer to Disney property. If you have a car, it's an easy drive right past Downtown Disney and to the parks. Rooms were comfortable, and service was excellent. I think you'll enjoy it!

I've also stayed here several times, usually on an unbeatable rate to extend my vaca for a day or two. Rooms were always nice w/ fridge & micro, great location.

Sounds like a great rate...
My only take is that if you are going to be off-site, getting a rental car is pretty much the way to go as hotel shuttles have been known to not be as great as advertised.
