We're headed down to LA in July to see family. I thought that it might be fun to do Universal, but the last time I went was in 1996. I can't remember . . . is there anything there that my 3-year-old would enjoy? I saw that there was a Shrek show, the animal show and some characters. There will also be the Simpson's ride by then. Anything else? Or would it be a complete waste of $54 for him and $64 each for us?? Seems like the one in Orlando has a lot more for the little ones. I guess you just can't beat Disneyland, huh??!! ;)

There is not alot for this age group.

There is a Nickelodeon section geared towards younger kids and there are some water areas in there for the kids to run around in. I live close to Universal and never go there. It just doesn't appeal to me or my now four year old that much. For this age group Disneyland, Knott's, and Legoland have much more activity. We went to Legoland about a week ago and ds loved it. He had so much fun there that we bought season passes. It's about 30 miles south of Disneyland in Carlsbad.

We've seriously thought about Legoland - my ds LOVES Legos! (thank God for that toy - hours of quiet play!) I'll have to look into that more. Sounds like Universal might be something he'll enjoy a couple years down the line. The height requirements for everything are so much taller than Disney. He's tall for his age, but still . . .

Thanks for the input!

Knott's is also a good choice and is just up the road from Disneyland (about 10 minutes) . They have alot to do for small children. Camp Snoopy is well designed for youngsters if you don't want to drive the 30 miles down to Legoland.
