Just wanted to post that my parents just stayed at the Hyatt at Orlando International Airport (MCO) for a VERY early flight out the next morning and loved it. They said it was the best decission they've made in a long time. Since they were right there at the airport, a bell-service person helped them with their luggage and they checked right into their flight, got through security and to the gate with no problems at all. Dad said the rooms were nice, the view was fun (watching planes land) and the convenience was unbeatable! They'd do it again. So, just putting that out there for those who might have to make an early flight out of MCO. Could be a good option.

We always considered doing that. Was it expensive? How was the noise?

I used to do it all the time.

Judy and I would get a flight after work leaving Dulles about 7:30 or 8:00. We would get into Orlando around 10:00. She would take the carryon stuff and check in, get to the room, and order from Room Service for us. I would go to Baggage Claim and get the suitcases, stop by the desk to get a key and the room number, and get the stuff upstairs. Shortly after our dinner would arrive.

In the morning we would put on our best Park Casual, have breakfast, I would get the rental car while Judy would finish repacking. I would park the car at the Hyatt Valet (telling them I was in the middle of checking out), and we would head to the car and off to the World.

No muss, no fuss, and we would be relaxed and not rushed for an early morning flight. And if our flight got in late, no worries, since we did not have to drive anywhere at night.

We were usually able to get a decent discounted room. Note if you are looking at Priceline, select a four star hotel near the airport that does not have a shuttle; the Hyatt is the only one in that category.

And I've had a couple of times since living here that I have had an early morning flight out. I will stay their overnight, not have to worry about driving or parking in the morning, and as said, Bell Services will take luggage right to the airline check in.

I can see staying there for an early morning flight. But I don't think I could take it staying there in the evening. Hey, I've just come halfway across the country - I wanna get on property NOW!!!
