I was just remembering the first time I went to WDW back in 1988, and Captain E-O was still new at the time. And I remember thinking that for the time, the 3D technology was pretty amazing.

I think it'd be an interesting idea if the Powers That Be could market the movie on DVD or Blu-Ray DVD with a special set of 3D glasses. I know Michael Jackson certainly isn't the mega popstar he was back in the 80s (he's an icon, but his music's fallen by the wayside), but like I said, it's just an idea.

Unfortunately, 3D doesn't work that way. The only way to see 3D on your home set is with the color difference method, where you get one red lens and one blue lens. It's not that good, and nowhere near the quality of the polarized lenses that a show like EO uses. There are some new technology screens that can show 3D without any glasses at all, but they're very experimental and very expensive.

I wouldn't mind just having some of those shows available for home viewing, in their entirety, 3D or not.

Wasn't Captain EO at MGM?

Nope - Epcot, in the Imagination pavilion.
