For those of us who make the decision to drive rather then fly. Meaning, far enough away to fly, but decide to drive. I drive down from Portland often.

I just have some questions and I'd love to hear your answers:
1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?
2. What time do you leave home?
3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)
4. Do you make it all in one day?
5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?
6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?
7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?
8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?
9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?
10. What are your scariest moments driving down?

I look forward to your answers!

I'll start it off.

1. About 15-16 hours, without major incidents along the way. We leave from Portland, Oregon. Roughly 944 miles from Anaheim (15:44mins according to navigation system)

2. We left at 4:30am last trip. But, I have left at 5:30am, 6:30am, and even 2pm before.

3. We intended to arrive at about 6:30-7pm last trip. On the 2pm leaving trip we intended to arrive at about 6am the next morning.

4. Always

5. I look forward to going to the Rain Forest Cafe to get some drinks after the marathon drive.

6. In order of seeing them, the landmarks are: The California boarder, the San Francisco turn, Sacramento, the Grapevine, Six Flags, the beginning of LA, the castle shopping mall structure on I-5, the Harbor/Disneyland drive exit, the Matterhorn, Mimi's cafe, and the entrace to DL!

7. We always rent a car rather then take our own. I'd rather save the 2000+ miles from being on my car. I already put enough on it from work.

8. I have been the sole driver on the last 2 trips. The trip before I didn't drive at all, but sat shotgun and navigated.

9. The money we save is nice, about $200 per person. It does suck that you lose those 15 hours, but the drive down is so full of excitement and hope, that it is worth it. The drive home, however, I could easily do without.

10. I've had several scary moments driving down. First one was near Eugene. All of the sudden the free way had heavy sleet/hail on the road. All of the cars hit their brakes and the guy behind us didn't see. He screeched to a halt and swerved into a open lane. Last time, we were cruising down I-5 and nearly everyone was going 90+mph. All of the sudden everyone stopped in front of us. There were many near missing and screeching tires. Turns out, there had just been a pretty severe looking couple of accidents in front of us, with one vehicle being completely burned. Shook us all up.

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?

We're from Southern Oregon, so it takes my family about 12 hours to get down there (if we keep a stable speed with no stops)

2. What time do you leave home?

We usually leave around 9-10 am in the morning.

3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)

We don't have an intended time, but usually before the evening.

4. Do you make it all in one day?

No, we usually stop for the night in Santa Ana at a Holiday Inn, my little sisters can't handle being in a car for that long, and it's nice to get some rest before reaching Anaheim.

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?

When we arrive, we always love going to Downtown Disney and sitting outside at a restaurant, watching happy families leave Disneyland. It builds the excitement!

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?

Seeing the Hollywood hills, Magic Mountain, my old hometown Redondo Beach, and billboards for Disneyland.

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?

We always take our own. It's a fairly new Toyota Sienna minivan, it has nice room, a dvd player and screen, and it keeps the kids fairly sane.

8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?

I can't drive yet, I have a permit (I'm 16) but I just passed my Driver's Ed exam last week so I'm hoping to get my license soon, and perhaps convince my parents to let me drive partially down to Anaheim on our trip in August. But my dad usually drives, my mom is a bit nervous with LA traffic. Sometimes they switch off, which is definitely a good thing, it can be pretty tiresome from what I've seen.

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?

We save a LOT of money, and it can definitely build up the excitement.

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?

The curvy roads, and when the kids are grumpy. :)

Not to mention the drivers in LA.

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?

about 8 hours. I live in San Jose. We usually leave around 11am get in town about 7ish give or take. Yes we do it all in one day

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?

Hoping to get in early enough to go to the park for a little bit

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?

If we drive the 5, hmmmm the restroom at the GrapeVine :p
If we drive the 101 then of course it's Andersons Pea Soup Restaurant :D

We do not rent a car, yes we switch off
We drive because for a family of 4 it's a LOT cheaper, although with gas prices these days it's getting harder.

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?

The scariest moment: I have had 2
The first I was alone, and my engine blew up in Thousand Oaks
The second was Thanksgiving day 2006. Some JERK!!!!! tries to pass me on the LEFT as I was MAKING A LEFT INTO A PARKING LOT and totalled my van. I was 45 mins from home. Worked out ok in the long run insurance gave me 5k for a10 year old van, nobody in MY van was hurt but he almost rolled his truck had it not been for a telephone pole.

hope this helps

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?

I look forward to your answers!

1. Just over 15 hours, I leave from Beaverton OR.

2. In 2005, the theme was 'I-5 by 5'! We left at 5am and arrived at our Hotel at 8:30pm, phew! In just over two weeks, we're driving again. It's a two-day trip this time, leaving at 1pm and stopping in Woodland, then finishing the trip the next morning.

3. Hopefully, we can arrive before real bad rush hour traffic. I'm hoping to check into the hotel right when we're allowed to, at 3pm.

4. Did once, would try again but I'll have my 4 year old and I'm the only driver, need I say more;)

5. Pillow, sweet pillow! Oh yeah, and Goofy's Kitchen for dinner!!!

6. Disneyland, period. It's not a road trip, it's a mission:fez:

7. I take my own, I'm too cheap to rent.

8. So far, I'm the only one. Sure wouldn't mind another licensed driver coming along, heehee.

9. Price, and that's the only reason. $300. for gas vs. $800. minimum for four to fly, plus shuttle cost to the hotel and back, ick!

10. Nothing scary so far on the way down. In 2005, I was scared I was going to vomit from that awful cattle farm (you know the one). I had to tie a smelly tree around my sunglasses and dangle it in front of my nose for a good 10 miles. I also had a mini panic attack about 4 hours from home, I just wanted to be home SO BAD by that point!!! I had to pull over and bawl for a few minutes and then I was all good again.

Great questions!! I am really dwelling on my upcoming drive and talking about it sure feels good. Great therapy session, heehee:D:D

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?

For us it's 8 hours because we stop for lunch or breakfast (depending on what time we left home) and several potty stops...we live in the Bay area.

2. What time do you leave home?

It really depends....but unless something drastic happens we're on the road by 6am, I like to leave around 4am but it doesn't always work out

3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)?

I try to get into town a bit before check in time at the hotel we're booked into. I have found if I can get into town between 1 and 3 the check in tends to go much smoother.

4. Do you make it all in one day??

always

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)??

Getting the paperwork out of the way and that first walk thru the tunnels onto Main street.

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive??

As silly as this sounds, a Union 76 station at the bottom of the grapevine, we know the distance from that exit to our friends home in the IE and from there to the hotel on Harbor.

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own??

My own.

8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off??

I rarely have another driver in the car...so it's me.

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly??

Price and time frame....we live about an hour to an hour and a half from any airport, so by the time I drive to the airport, park, deal with baggage check and the 90 minute preflight stuff, I can drive in roughly the same amount of time.

10. What are your scariest moments driving down??

I've been blessed, we've had good trips so far.

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?

It is about 9 - 10 hours from Reno - we drive I-80 to I-5

2. What time do you leave home?

It seems like we usually leave around 4 pm, and now that is "the time to go".

3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)

Before 2 am! We usually pull in around 1, it seems, very sleepy.

4. Do you make it all in one day?

Absolutely! :~D

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?

Sleep in a comfy bed. The next morning!

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?

Harbor Blvd. I'm usually sleeping then, and DH is driving, so when he pulls off the 5, that wakes me up (and lately, it's when he goes on the detour that is right before the exit at night), I climb up to the shotgun seat and get really excited!!

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?

We drive in Hilda, our 2001 Honda Odessy (gray, named such after the Richard Scary character)

8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?

We switch, in 2-3 hour shifts, and once the kids konk out in their car seats, the non-driver goes to the back seat, buckles in, lays down and sleeps!

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?

Cost, and time, I think. I read somewhere that an 8 hour drive is the break even point for the amount of time needed with flying vs. driving. We flew the first time, using the Alaska Air kids fly free, but not since. Plus, then it just seems like a little jaunt, instead of a huge "trip" - like we take to the midwest 2x/year to see family.

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?

None that I can think of - so far!!!!:D

Great questions!

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?
About 7to 8 hours, I believe. We're in Sacramento, so we just get on I-5 and point the car south toward Disneyland.

2. What time do you leave home?
My husband prefers to drive at night and avoid the traffic, so we usually leave around 6PM.

3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)
1 -2 AM

4. Do you make it all in one day?
Yep, usually.

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?
Checking in to the hotel to get a little sleep before our adventure begins!

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?
Pea Soup Andersen's, the Grapevine, Magic Mountain

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?
We usually take our own car. Our little Saturn gets 35-38MPG.

8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?
I don't drive, so my husband does it all.

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?
Cheaper and we can go on our own schedule.

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?
I'm afraid of the other cars because ours is so little, so I get freaked out in the cities where there's a lot of traffic.

I'm a driver, if I'm driving the plane, I fly. If not, it's the Suburban.

1. It's probably 16 hours if I drive straigh thru (never have) from
Eugene, Oregon.

2. My typical 1 week road trip to LA starts on a Friday and start driving south
after work.

3. Since I only have a Deluxe AP, and I stay with relatives in Dana Point.
Mu first day at the parks is Monday. usually spend 4 days in the parks.

4. I've never tried on my own. This past January when my dad was along for the trip. Coming back, we started in Baldwin Park at 6:30am and got across
the Oregon border by 5pm.

5. getting thru the LA traffic.

6. Mt. Shasta

7. take my own

8. only driver

9. well...Dinseyland isn't my only destination. I like to take 2 days to get down there and check out a drive-in along the way. I'm going to stop at
Lake Tahoe on the way back up on my next trip in July. So I find it easier to drive instead of fly. I have a Camry with decent mileage so I don't think
that's a problem.

10. none yet, knock on wood.

I like to drive from Dallas every other year or so. I really enjoy getting out there by myself, playing tunes and enjoying the miles clicking by. I usually take 2 days to make the 1,400 mile trip, but have been known to take it easy and spread it out over 3 days. And I like to hit my Anaheim hotel at around 1 or 2pm, which then gives me a terrific late afternoon entrance to DL!

2. What time do you leave home?

Usually be 6-7. Last time we left around 5!!
3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)

Lunchtime.
4. Do you make it all in one day?

Yes. Always.
5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?

Actually getting there!! When we get off the 57 I am always like "we are almost there!!"

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?

The Giant Baby in the field in AZ, CA border, windmills, Giant Dinosaurs, "Dinah Shore casino" (long story), outlets

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?
Usually our own
8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?

It is cheaper and takes almost the same amount of time, when you consider getting to the airport, waiting, renting a car etc.

10. What are your scariest moments driving down? None that I can think of.

I look forward to your answers!

1. The drive is 11 hours from SLC, Utah.

2. It depends; if we are stopping overnight then we leave around 10 am. If we are driving through then we leave at 5 am.

3. Again, it depends. if we are staying OP and want a good room/view then we stay the night on the way and arrive early the next morning around 11 am.

4. See above ;)

5. Besides actually walking through the gates at Disneyland, I love listening to the Aladdin soundtrack. We always play A Whole New World when we arrive. :D

6. Vegas is the biggest landmark besides seeing Angel Stadium and the Matterhorn. We also like seeing Bun Boy.

7. Take our own.

8. DH drives the entire trip. This next trip it will be all me babyee as he will be in D.C. with our oldest DD.

9. I have control issues. :~D

10. No scary moments.

We have never been to disneyland but are hoping to and we would probably be driving
It says it takes a little over 31 hours to get to disneyland
We would be leaving from Grande Prairie , Alberta, Canada
WE would be taking our vehicle
It would be my hubbie as i don't drive
The reason why we would drive is that we are a family of 6 so the cost
We would be excited to see all as we have never been out of Alberta as a family
And we would probably be taking 4 days to get there

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from? 14 hrs or so, from Boise, Idaho
2. What time do you leave home? This time leaving about 1 pm, will drive 9 hrs or so, stop over, and finish the drive the next morning. Early afternoon arrival in Disneyland!
3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor) 1 pm or so
4. Do you make it all in one day? No
5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)? Seeing the peak of the Matterhorn
6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive? Haven't gone this direction before, we drove over to Portland last time to visit family first.
7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own? Our own, 2002 Honda Odyssey
8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off? I usually do all the driving, although if I get tired, I might ask my wife to drive
9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly? Money! It would be $1250 for us to fly (or more), and even with gas what it is right now, it is much cheaper to drive (we will still fly for our 2nd trip in October though, budgeted enough $$$ for that.)
10. What are your scariest moments driving down? Nothing that I can think of.

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?

About 10 hours driving time. Central Utah.

2. What time do you leave home?

3 or 4 pm. DH takes off a little early from work.

3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)

12-1pm the following day

4. Do you make it all in one day?

We could if we aren't taking the kids. Which has never happened. SO... nope!

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?

Checking in to the hotel, relaxing in the room, walking to DTD, eating beingets at Brennan's, shopping.....

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?

St George, UT for frozen custard at Neilson's, the bright lights of Vegas and seeing cousins, Primm, the big thermometer, DL drive..

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?

We take our own. Too hard to switch carseats and fit all our stuff in a car without stow n' go!! :p

8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?

I might drive if DH gets tired but, he does most of the driving. I read to him or we are listening to the kiddos watch their fav disney movies or play disney games.

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?

We live about an hour and 15-20 mins from the airport, in the WRONG direction, so, it would take about 7-8 hours. We also love to stop at my SIL's in Vegas and visit, if they aren't coming with us!! We like having our own car (dh likes to visit at least one other park while we are there) And the all important cost factor. 5 tickets = too much!! I want to spent more money in the parks!!:D

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?

That yucky bathroom somewhere in CA that they wanted to charge us to use!! When we pulled up DH said, "We're here!" and the kids started to cry!! DS, then 5 said, "this isn't DL!! It stinks!"

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?
About 7-8 hours from San Jose. In my college years I used to make it in a little under 6 (I know...Crazy! What the heck was I thinking!)
2. What time do you leave home?
We try to leave by 7 AM in hopes that we'll miss traffic but that usually never happens in LA. Realistically when we say we're leaving at 7 we usually leave by 10 ;)
3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)
By 6 PM
4. Do you make it all in one day?
Always
5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?
A churro
6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?
Casa De Fruita, Harris Ranch for lunch, the Shell station before the grapevine (they have chocolate moon pies mmmmm a must have driving snack!) Magic Mountain, Citadel (the castle shopping center), when the 5 freeway becomes pretty (nicely paved) right before DL I know I'm very close, and the Harbor Blvd sign.
Ok so call me crazy but I look forward to the stinky cows. They keep me from zoning out.
7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?
Take my own. It's comfy and I need my heated bum seat warmer in the winter :D
8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?
So, we always start off by saying that we'll switch but, somehow I seem to be the only one who drives.
9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?
Cheaper than flying. Tradition. I need and enjoy my road trips every now and then.
10. What are your scariest moments driving down?
Thank goodness I haven't had any except for back in the day I went w/ a bunch of my DH friends and they decided to have a farting contest with the windows rolled up! Sad to say they still do this.

1) 6.5 hours door-to-door...7 if I hit L.A.-area traffic.
2) We try to leave by 7 am but more often than not it's more like 8 am.
3) 2-3pm...but given #1 and #2 above, we almost always never hit that goal.
4) Yes.
5) Checking in and getting dinner.
6) The Grapevine, if only because reaching it means we're roughly one hour away from DL. Side note--the one landmark during the drive we don't look forward to is the large dairy/cattle farm right alongside I-5 north of Harris Ranch; for those folks familiar w/ doing the I-5 trek, you know exactly what I refer to. :~D
7) Drive my own, since I have XM radio and multiple headrest monitors to keep us entertained.
8) I'm the only driver since I'm the only one willing to drive quite a bit faster than 75 mph down I-5.
9) Cheaper than flying, plus I have control over our schedule. Also, once I factor in the amount of time involved in having to go to/from the airport, going through security, flight time itself, etc.--the amount of time saved if traveling to DL via plane vs. car isn't that significant, given that we live in the Sacramento area.
10) The only thing that I would consider a "scary" moment while driving down is during those times when the tule fog gets really thick.

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?

16-20 hours from Tacoma, WA (depending on stops, speed, cops, etc)

2. What time do you leave home?

Uh...no real rule on this yet...we've only done the drive from here twice - once we did straight through - got to DLR area around 7am. The other we stopped in Hayward for a couple of nights visiting family.

3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)

Whenever we get there - the earlier in the day the better - wanna play at DL!!

4. Do you make it all in one day?

Not really in one day - but in one shot...maybe...we're gonna try in September.

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?

Disneyland!!!

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?

Oregon Border, Salem (grew up near there), Eugene (went to college there), California Border, Mt. Shasta, Grapevine, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Interstate signs that say DISNEYLAND on them, Disneyland Harbor Blvd exit, Monorail, Matterhorn, Park entrance, hotel

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?

We take our 2002 Honda Odyssey.

8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?

Usually switch off...though I tend to do most of the driving (I did 16 of the 20 hours one time - when I got out of the car near the grapevine to go to the bathroom, I could barely walk - I was so tired, I looked drunk!! Dh drove the rest of the way)

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?

It's MUCH cheaper! $300 in gas vs. $800-1200 to fly!

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?

I can't think of any right now.

I haven't been in years, but this looked like fun anyways:

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?
About 10 hours or so, coming from Redding
2. What time do you leave home?
We would usually leave around 6 in the morning or so
3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)
A day later in the week. We almost always visited family in Covina
4. Do you make it all in one day?
Not usually. One time I did. No stop in Covina
5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?
Walking underneath the train, looking down Main Street, and seeing the castle
6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?
I saw that someone else mentioned the Split Pea Soup. I have to agree. I didn't like eating there, but just passing it was a pleasant landmark. Magic Mountain was another one...it said you're almost there. And the last non-Disney one would be the Angel's stadium...it said "You're Here!!!"
7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?
The family car
8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?
Most of the trips, I sat in the back seat. But during the later ones, we would switch off
9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?
Tradition? The Redding Airport is expensive to fly from, and the trip is a day experience
10. What are your scariest moments driving down?
My first trip after high school...the car had trouble with overheating, not pleasant. Also, just driving in L.A. for the first time was not fun!

1 - 13 hours from Southeastern Utah -
2 - Usually leave home around noon
3 - We arrive in Anaheim the next day around noon
4 - That is a two day drive - we can make it in one, but we have had a kid in diapers for the past three years (two different kids - not the same :)) so we like to spread it out as the drive is long when your small!
5 - I love when we turn on to Harbor and everyone is looking for the Matterhorn and the kids are sooooo excited to be there. I love walking under the bridge the most when I get to the park and the music on main street is fantastic!
6. Landmarks - I don't think any of them get us excited - more than another, they are all just another step closer!!
7. Take our own
8. Husband drives the whole way
9. Cost - and control - I like to have a vehicle to go where I want, when I want.
10 - CITY TRAFFIC - we are from a VERY small town and it makes DH nervous - and coming across the desert when it's really hot - had the car almost overheat once and it wasn't fun! Also, had people in front of us in a motorhome once and their luggage thing on top was open and stuff was flying out at us all the sudden - lawn chairs, clothes - it was awful!!

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?
Fife, WA - 17-18 hours.

2. What time do you leave home?
depends, we either leave at 4-5am or after my hubby gets off work at 12:30. it varies on work schedules, time of year.

3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor)
if we leave at 4-5am, we get there mid afternoon the next day. If we leave at lunch time we get there dinner time the next day.

4. Do you make it all in one day?
We have never driven it straight thru, we always make at least one stop for fun before hand.

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)?
Just walking and being there, we get our autograph book and usually a favorite treat. Cookie, dole whip, etc

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive?
Mt. Shasta, Corning Olive Pit, Seeing LA

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own?
Own car

8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off?
If we go with my parents, only my dad drives. if dh and i go by ourselves, we switch

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly?
Cheaper and more fun. we like to stop at places along the way and i grew up driving to California twice a year, so the car doesnt bother me at all. i find it great family bonding time.

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?
cant think of any specific. i am sure there have been so close calls with other drivers.

We are leaving next Saturday and driving straight through (see specifics below). We are trying driving with two teenage boys (ages 15 and 17) and are trying to decide if we should take our new car (an SUV with less room) or our older minivan that provides room to stretch out. If it's just my husband and I, we fly, but if we are taking the kids we sometimes drive to save money ( and we like road trips)

1. How long is the drive? Where do you leave from?
We leave from Vancouver, Washington, and the drive is about 16 to 18 hours, depending on stops. Last trip we had to stop and take a nap for a couple of hours.

2. What time do you leave home? It varies. We try to time it so that we can check into our hotel soon after we arrive, because it's nice to shower after driving all those hours :)

3. What time do you intend on arriving in the Anaheim area (Disneyland Dr/Harbor) Near check in time. However, once we drove all night unplanned, and arrived at 6am. The hotel let us check in as soon as the room was ready, which was wonderful!!!

4. Do you make it all in one day? Usually

5. What do you look forward to the most upon arrival (that night/day)? A shower and SUNSHINE

6. What landmarks get you excited along the drive? Lake Shasta, Mount Shasta, the state border, The Disneyland sign (not so easy to see the Matterhorn as it used to be. Oh yah, and PALM TREES!!!

7. Do you generally rent a car or take your own? Always take our own

8. Are you the only driver or do you switch off? We switch off. I am much more of a night person (I am a night shift nurse) and love to drive all night, although I prefer it if someone stays up and keeps me company. I also like to listen to audio books. This trip I think it will be "World War Z - the Zombie wars"

9. What is the reason you drive rather then fly? Simply to save money, although we do enjoy road trips.

10. What are your scariest moments driving down?
Once after making fun of my husband for packing chains, we hit a bad snowstorm on the way home going through the pass in southern Oregon. It was scary! Of course, it's also scary when you find yourself nodding off.
