I'm going to Disney with husband and grandson in October. We are doing the Basic Dining plan but are considering adding the Luau as an extra. Has anybody been to see it and is it worth the money? Also is category 3 worth it or should we pay for category 1? Thanks.

I took my daughters when they were 6 & 9. It was fabulous, the food was wonderful. I thought it was well worth it. I think it may be lost on very young children.

My husband and I are taking our grandson in about 2 weeks, I have heard it is very good with lots of food we are going catagory 1. This seems like a nice change to me. He is a big eater , and picky (14) so we try to hit all the buffet's.

My husband and I have gone to the Luau on our adult trips and have absolutly loved it! We are going to WDW in April (only 3 weeks! :) and we are taking our 3 (and 3/4) Son to the Luau. I think it will be entertaining. They do some fire dancing and they even have a part where they have the kids come up and learn to hula. This is however the first time we are taking him to this....so I will try to come back to this post after and let you know how it went!! :D Oh, also we decided to settle for the category 3 since category two was gone and we didnt want to pay for the category 1. So I will assess that situation also! :)

Last year we sat in Cat. 3. I thought it was just fine. The kids had a great time and my youngest was 4 at the time. You can also use 2 credits and pay with your dining plan. That is what we did. This year I'm using my Disney Dining Experience card and saving 20% and still sitting in Cat. 3.
