What is the best time of year to go to WDW? When are there low crowds, the least refurbs and good weather? We are adults, so we can pretty much go whenever.

The refurbs part of your question is the toughest, as there isn't really a firm refurb season anymore. They can take one of your favorites down at any time, and usually something is down year round.

That said, I have 3 favorite times of the year, all of which are off season with good weather. I like to plan a trip for sometime around this time of year, March or April. I try to avoid the Easter weekend. This year's trip comes up in about 2 1/2 weeks. Then there's my birthday at the end of September, which also hooks into the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, one of my favorite events. And then there's early December, when all the Christmas stuff is up and running but the crowds haven't arrived for the holiday yet.

All are great times with great weather. September can have more of those 20 minute afternoon showers, but most of them are gone by the end of September.

what about spring breaks in March and April any problems?

How about during the free dining plan? Although we're never sure exactly when it is, free food is always fun! I would like to take advantage of this one time

Aside from large crowds and higher room rates, there usually aren't "problems" with spring break time.

If you want low crowds, you go when the kids are in school.

PERSONALLY, I probably wouldn't go during free dining, because the restaurants are going to be super duper crowded, and I'm not a fan of that. I'd rather go when there's a true discount on the room being offered for something that I'd do. For me, since I am not a dining plan person, the free dining is like going to Olive Garden when they're offering 'unlimited' pasta bowls. It makes the place more crowded, and I'd never eat more than one bowl anyway.

I would also hae a agree with the free dining. It is so hard to get reservations and they are so crowded. But the deal of free food is good thought. March and April are great weather wise. Spring break is crowded but I would still consider it. Parks are open later and you can use the extra magic hours. I'm thinking about going down next year since I bought an AP for my trip this year and want to go down before it runs out.

I just wanted to second the prior said times of year. Those are the times of year we have tended to go and have always been GREAT! We went once ove the fourth of July and it was hot, humid and CROWDED! Wont do that again. The only thing we encountered in September was love bugs. Kind of annoying but not enough to deter me from that time of year! Beginning of May is nice too.
