Okay I started this earlier and had tons typed out and then went to post and lost it all. So here I go again, although may not be as lengthy.
Day One: Fly and Arrive Day
We were picked up by a friend and off to DIA we went at 5:45 am. Our plane left at 8:30 and arrived in Orlando at 1:30. We were so excited to finally be going on this trip that we had been planning for forever!! :) Flight was pretty uneventful until about 30 mins before we landed, we hit some big turbulence, not fun. Neither was the landing, I don't know if it was the wind or what but we hit the ground with a big thud! We swayed a bit to the side too and my daughters eyes about popped out of her head! Our luggage took a while to get as they had to hand throw it out because the wind kept setting off something that would shut the carriage down. Hubby went to get the rental car all squared away while we waited for our luggage. Took a while but we were off in our car about 45 mins after we landed.:) We stopped for groceries and lunch and drove to POR. This place is beautiful! Greenery, trees, bushes, bunnies, lizards(small ones), water everywhere and the pool is pretty cool. The weather was pretty chilly and windy though and I was bummed about that but luckily we all wore pants and jackets on the plane.:) I also packed extra pants and sweatshirts. Anyway, we were staying in the Alligator Bayou with the trundle bed and the buildings I thought were really cool. This resort was like camping in the woods without having to sleep in a tent!! It was pretty quiet and there were not a lot of people around. Our room was nice, minus a bit of dusty dirt on the floor in the bathroom. I liked having two sinks since there are 5 of us, it was a blessing for sure. We tried to find the t.v. station that played disney cartoons all the time, but had no luck, guess they don't have it anymore. We watched it all the time in 2006. We relaxed for a while and then went to Downtown Disney for dinner. We planned on taking the water taxi but decided against it for today since it was pretty windy and chilly. Hubby and son #2 had dinner reservations at Fultons and the rest of us went to The Earl of Sandwich! Yum!! The Earl was pretty crowded but the line moved quickly, so if you are there and see a big line don't get discouraged we waited about 15 mins and it was looped 3 times. There was not any seats inside so we had to sit outside to eat. Luckily the wind had died down and was just chilly. I can do chilly without wind, after all we live in Colorado!! After dinner, we met up with my son and hubby in the Once Upon a Toy Shop. Fultons they said was delicious but expensive! The rest of us don't care for fish and I knew it was pretty costly so it was a special deal for dad and son #2.:) We window shopped for a while, took some time to absorb the fact we were finally on vacation and then headed back to the room for some much needed sleep!!
Day Two: Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom!
We were up early and had breakfast in the room. Cereal, fruit and juice. We chose AK as our first resort as we were dying to get on Expedition Everest again! We arrived just before the park opened and when it opened we walked to Everest with the intention of just getting fastpasses for later, but it was a walk on, as the ride had just opened.:) We rode and got fast passes for later. This ride is great! Even with the cool breeze of the morning, the rush on this ride cannot be beat! We all love the Yeti and he was fully lit up for us to see! After Everest we rode the Safari ride and had a mere 5 min wait. I think they have changed some of the spiel since '06 as I did not recognize some of it. The animals were out in full enjoying the morning and some breakfast. We had a funny encounter with an Ostrich who hogged the road in front of us and we had to stop and wait for her to continue on. I snapped a few photos as she checked us out checking her out. She was close enough to touch as she went from the front of the vechicle around the side. No one was dumb enough to try to touch her thankfully. After the ride we asked why their were all these chains on the road as we drove. We were told it was for the mud to be scraped off the tires so the vehichles did not get stuck. Ah, our fun fact for today. :) We went to see the Flights of Wonder show next that was also a little different than when we saw it in 2004. My daughter pouted until the show started, she did not want to see it, but loved it when it was over. Go figure. I like that they bring out some of the birds after the show for you to see and talk to the trainers. In my next life I want to work there with the animals.:) Next we did Maharaja Animal Trek and enjoyed the animals and had fun searching for the Hidden Mickeys! I bought the book and we found 8 or 9 of them.I took some pics to remember them and to scrapbook them. Next was lunch at Flametree BBQ a great place to eat with pretty good food. :) Dinoland was next and we rode rides with no wait at all and I found a few more hidden Mickeys there too. Dad then stayed with the younger two kids and my oldest son and I went to see the Nemo show. Great show, the puppetry was great and the music was fun and upbeat! I found a hidden Mickey there too! We sat about 5 rows from the front off to the left a bit and the view was great! I have a neat setting on my camera that lets me take pics WITHOUT a flash, so I took about 4 or 5 of the show. The only complaint is the story line is pretty chopped up but all the majesty of this show makes up for it. I recommend it to anyone going to Animal Kingdom, make time to see this show! We rode Everest again after except Dad who is good for one ride a day, as the backwards motion wrecks his stomach! Next was a bit of shopping and exploring. My son #2 bought this Komodo Dragon that is about 2 feet long! He became our trip mascot and we had so much fun with him, so did Goofy one night but that comes later.:) He named him Spike and after a snack and some pics in front of AK we were off to spend the evening in MK for EMH! The weather had warmed up enough to take off our jackets, hooray!
More later......

houseofmouse 03-18-2008, 03:25 PM So I guess I just add to what's above?
Magic Kingdom: Day Two
We arrived at Magic Kingdom and got to park in Grumpy! That is pretty close to the entrance of the Transportation and Ticket Center, which we found out after we took the tram!!:) Anyway we got on the monorail, a favorite with my kids and arrived at the park lickity split! There is nothing like the feeling when you see the entrance and walk in the park, it just makes you feel happy. We went and got our Anniversary Pins from City Hall and put them on. The park was not too crowded, hooray!! We headed over to Tommorland and walked over to have our traditional family picture taken in front of the castle. I wish I could post pics here. Anyway we had a ton of fun with our photographer! He took several pics of just myself and my hubby since we were wearing our anniversary pins that day. He took one of all of us and Spike and one without Spike as well. He had our kids cover their eyes and make a shocked faced and had my hubby and I share a smooch as he took a picture. It turned out pretty cute. He then took several of my daughter and a few that would add Tinkerbell. We thanked him and were off again. We walked onto Buzz, I don't like not being able to take the gun off but it helps your score if you just continuously hold down the trigger and aim durning the game. :) After that we rode the TTA, another favorite with my kids, not exactly the Peoplemovers of my day but a nice place to rest your feet. Then we did Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. That was okay, some of the jokes were funny and they kept picking on this one guy in the front the whole time. The kids loved it but we did it once the whole trip. Hmmm..it's kinda hard to remember everything we did in order but we rode several rides with little or not wait, got Fastpass for Space, on Pirates I took a picture of Spike getting ready to ride. I took pics of Spike in the car in front of Autotopia. That Komodo got more camera time than anyone that day. We had some dinner at Columbia Harbor house and we thought we misplaced my son and Spike. He had gone upstairs to sit while we ordered and while we ordered they put a rope up in front of the stairs since there was plenty of seating downstairs. The CM must not have checked to see if anyone was actually sitting there because my son was still up there waiting for us. I saw the rope and thought he must have come down but no after looking my hubby had the brains to go over the rope and located them. Whew! After dinner it started getting pretty darn cold and we were glad we wore pants and jackets into the park. Mind you we live in Colordo but something about the wet and cold is different. We used our fastpass and also did some shoopping and then waited for the parade. We got pretty chilly waiting for the parade and only my middle son complained. It will be a theme on this trip. We watched the parade, got some yummy dessert in the line that took forever!! It was then time for EMH as missed the fireworks waiting in line for dessert. It was okay we knew we would have a chance to see them again later in the week. We only made EMH for 2 hours, riding Mickeys Philharmagic, the Carousel, cars, Haunted Mansion and did some more shopping on the way out. My middle son was totally jet lagged by 10:30 and a bit warm. Not really sure if he had a fever but he felt that way. By Monday he was okay. We drug our tired bodies back to the monorail, our car and headed back to the hotel. What cracks me up with my kids is that they can be dragging their tushes out of the park, fall half asleep on the way to the hotel and then take forever to to go to sleep as they get all crazy in the room!! Anyone have this issue besides us?
Next up Day Three: Epcot and Hollywood Studios!
Greg in TN 03-19-2008, 01:56 PM What cracks me up with my kids is that they can be dragging their tushes out of the park, fall half asleep on the way to the hotel and then take forever to to go to sleep as they get all crazy in the room!! Anyone have this issue besides us?
Yes, absolutely. There have been times when the kids are wiped out leaving a park, but when we get back to the hotel, they're ready to jump in the pool .. Go figure
houseofmouse 03-21-2008, 12:01 PM Day Three:
Sunny and warm! We made it to Epcot 30 mins after it opened. The crowds were there but no on the rides. We rode Spaceship Earth, I like the changes on the ride and I like the ending as well.:) We had a great day at Epcot and after using our FP for Soarin, we headed over to the Stuidos for EMH and Fantasmic. :)
We went to the Studios in the afternoon and parked close enough that we did not need to take the tram. We got some ice cream, dad and the boys went to see Indian Jones and Daughter and myself went to get her a churro and watch High School Musical 2 show. I like the other one better but maybe it will grow on me. My DD was being shy today and did not want to join in the fun.:crying: We rode the Great Movie Ride and searched for a sweathshirt for dad for tonight as he forgot one at home. We rode Tower of Terror and bought our pic, as we were in the front rows and it turned out well. We always buy one pic of either Tower or Splash while in Florida. :) We walked around and did some other things that escape me at the moment. We bought our dinner and took it into Fantasmic to wait for the show. Fantasmic although different from Californias is still fun to watch and we enjoy it. We sat 5 rows up from the front and then it got windy! So during the show we got a little wet. Next was Rockin Roller Coaster, Tower again, just mom and my daughter. We went into the animation building, drew Daisy and did all the games there. Somewhere in there the kids and dad had a snack too. They are snack mongrels! We were pretty tired by 10:30 and headed back once again to our hotel. I like that the hotel is so quiet, no noise from anywhere. Soon we were sleeping like babies and dreaming of the next day just being spent at Magic Kingdom and Pirate and Princess Party!
lizziemcguire76 03-21-2008, 12:05 PM Can't wait to hear the next installment of your report!
houseofmouse 03-23-2008, 10:17 PM Day Four: Magic Kingdom all day and Pirate and Princess! Plus a Dream!
Today was Tuesday already! How fast vacations go! Today we plan on staying all day at MK because it is only open until 7 tonight and myself and my DD are staying for Pirate and Princess tonight! We also have our character dinner at Liberty Tree.
We arrived about 9:30 in the park and headed over to get FP for Space and then we were off to Tom Sawyers Island. Today Spike came again. I planned on some more fun Komodo pics! So after FP, I confirmed our dinner for tonight and we headed over to catch the raft. We saw tons of people with dream ears. I kinda ran a little and asked a few where they got them, getting of Big Thunder. Bummer.:crying: Well then we had just gotten on the raft to go to the island and my hubby saw the dream team out of the corner of his eye standing at the exit dock. We were already on the raft but had not gone anywhere yet and my DD with her perfect timing decided she needed to go to the bathroom. My hubby and I smiled at each other and off the raft we went. As we walked up to the exit area the lady asked if we had gotten off the raft. They were the dream team!! We said yes and she asked which raft, bummer I thought we were out of luck. My hubby said the one waiting to go to the island, we need a potty break and maybe get some FP for Splash too. She said"Oh okay, you fit the criteria, you had to be getting off a raft to win."the other CM pulled out dream ears for all of us!! Whoohoo! We won ears!! We were so excited except my middle son who was miffed we got off the raft to go potty!! We then wore our ears proudly over to the potty and after a pic or two, got fast pass for Splash and then headed over to go to the island and play. Middle son was much happier now!
Tom Sawyers is always great for my kids, forget the rides they just want to run around the Fort and look for lizards and play in some slide, tunnel thing!! So we did that for a while and then convinced them to head off! My 14 year old refused to wear his ears anymore! What a turkey!:) We went and used our FP for Splash Mountain and good thing it was warm today, we got soaked!! Much wetter than I remember and I was in the second row! I got more wet than any of us! My bangs and hair were toast! My shorts were soaked! This was the only time we rode Splash, as none of us like being that wet that long. My shorts were wet for 4hours and my hair never did recover!! Time for lunch!
Lunch was at Cosmic Rays and then hubby went to the locker we got for the day to store my DD's princess dress and jackets for tonight, to put the boys ears in. We rode the cars, tea cups, got FP for pooh, rode Small World, and headed over to Toontown and let the boys go off for a little while since they are "too big for Toontown!" We rode the Barnstormer with no wait, whew! It was then that I felt like something was wrong. We got off and I realized my oldests hopper pass was missing!! I am meticulous about making sure I have them all! I count and I count but I think the pooh bear FP machine ate his hopper!! I was nauesous as we have never had this happen and we were not sure what we would have to do to get another one! DD of course was mad to leave toontown but we had to hurry to Town Hall to find out what to do. We also stopped by Pooh, no luck and Cosmic Rays too JIC, no luck! Wow I did not realize how easy it would be to get another hopper! We just gave her our other ones and she scanned them and out popped another pass for my son! I was so happy I started to cry. I thought our trip was possibly ruined and was so happy it was okay! We met up with the boys and they had to go to Toontown Fair with us. They did okay, we looked for hidden Mickeys in the houses and had fun!! Next was Pooh! Minus my oldest! We then had a snack and rode Haunted Mansion. Love the footprints on the staircases and it is nice that the attic is like D-lands. :)
Up next our hilarious Character Dinner at Liberty Tree!! Delicious food, well worth the cost and the best characters! Will post more about dinner tomorrow! Night!:)
MrsGrumpy 03-24-2008, 02:58 PM I'm really enjoying your report! :)
Can't wait to hear about your "hilarious" character dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.
My oldest will be 14 when we go in 464 days. I am wondering if he will feel too old for some stuff too. It's an akward age for some.
Anyway...it's a great report...
Keep it comin'! :)
houseofmouse 03-24-2008, 04:36 PM Okay so I wish I could post pictures, we had such a great time at Liberty Tree!
I love the outfits the characters wear and our waiter was great. The food came quickly and was delicious! Pork, flank steak, chicken, mashed potatoes, rolls and the best green beans I have had in a long time. What really made it fun were the characters. Minnie loved my DD, she kept kissing her on the head! While we were eating Pluto came over and signed autographs and took pics with the kids and the hubby. Well we just had to have one with Spike the Komodo too and Pluto was happy to oblige. He held out his ear and help up Spike. Too cute. A few minutes later, Goofy came over and did the same routine with the kids. My middle son (Spikes owner) asked if Goofy would pose with Spike too and Goofy did. Well then Goofy put his hand over his mouth like a hush and started walking off with Spike. We thought "Uh-oh." Goofy then walked over to Pluto while his back was turned and scared Pluto after he turned around. Too funny, Pluto jumped up in the air. Next Goofy walked over to the rail and held out Spike at a lady until she turned around! The lady jumped a foot and we all laughed. Next Goofy scolded Spike for scaring the lady but proceeded to take him around to the tables nearby and "goof" around with the tables and Spike! I thought at this point I was videotaping but realized I had it on pause!! I was so mad. Goofy went to the table across from us and set Spike on the bald guy's head as he was getting ready to pay. He made Spike act like he needed to pony up some more money or something, we couldn't really tell. They were good sports and laughed with all of us. Goofys handler came over and told Goofy to give the nice Komodo back and to stop goofing around but Goofy was not done yet. My kids were laughing so hard and none of us were eating. This was the best interaction ever! Goofy then looked Spike in the eye and stood there for a minute and then Spike attacked Goofy knocking him to the ground on his back!! OMG, hilarious. He kicked and writhed and rolled a little and then jumped up, took a bow and we all clapped! I did get a pic of Spike attacking poor Goofy for the scrapbook though! Goofy did another bow and then showed Spike to Chip who was not too impressed. Chip did take pics with us and Spike though but he did not love him like Goofy did. The others around us seemed to enjoy the show as well, which is nice because you never know how they will react. We finished our dinner finally, I think it must have been over 10 mins that Goofy played with our Spike. The dessert was delicious and on the way out I made sure to tell the ladies at the door to let the whomever was in charge that we loved playing with Goofy. Hopefully that info was passed onto Goofy that night. :):) Too much fun!! The highlight of our day for sure aside from winning the ears.
We then had almost an hour until P&P so we rode Jungle Cruise and climbed Swiss Family. Well mom did not do the treehouse as my feet were still killing me! Then we walked to our locker, gave Dad and boys kisses goodbye and got ready for Pirate and Princess fun! My DD changed into her Belle dress and we got our wristbands and took pics in front of the sign on the red carpet! We then walked down the red carpet and the whole park just felt and looked different. There was dry ice going, lights, music and projections on the buildings. We got our map and schedule and we were off!!
First up a picture of the princess in the royal chair by the castle. I like the Belle dress she wore as it was her Halloween costume from 2006 and was not all poofy and easy to walk in and sit on the rides. Her hair was a mess but we did not care! First ride we rode was Space Mountain, no wait at all! Then we played some games they had set up. Ring toss, some catapult game and one with air and you had to knock down a few ships. They had the DJ going, kids dancing and teens, lots of teens. DD did not want to dance as she is pretty shy in large crowds. So we rode the TTA and then Space again!! Next was some treasure hunting, Pooh ride, and then we sat down to watch the parade. It was really easy finding a nice spot as the park was not crowded. I think I wanted to see the parade more than she did.:) After the parade we went back into Fantasyland we took a picture in the Cinderella Carriage area and waited a while. The pic was cute and worth the wait. We got a snack and sat down for fireworks. The show is great!! Way better than watching Wishes again, although I like Wishes I am glad it is different for tonight. We sat by the partners statue and the view was great. DD liked the fireworks more than the parade. After we rode Pirates no wait and the whole boat was empty but us. We traded pins, saw Jasmine, rode the Magic Carpets of Aladin, got some more treasure and then headed over to try to take pics with Pirate Mickey,Pluto, Goofy and Donald. Just as we got in line they took a break, we were not sure how long they would be gone so we went and rode the cars. We got ring pops after and got back into a shorter line to see the characters. It took forever in this line though!! If it weren't for the fact they were piratey we probably would have skipped it for more rides!! They took another water break and were back in less than 10 mins. It was fun though watching the characters. They would dance with each other while waiting for people and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Their handlers would dance and clap with the DJ (since the music was only a few feet away) and she too was having a blast. Finally it was time for our picture!! After pics, we did some shopping for pins for tonight and then headed out of the park to take the bus back to POR. We had a ton of fun, we forgot to ride some rides for sure but it was worth it!! My DD said she would remember forever our special night! Talk about making a mom cry!! :)
More to come!! Need to rest my weary brain! It is fun remembering our trip though as I type. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
lizziemcguire76 03-24-2008, 07:37 PM Awww what a special time for you and your daughter, that sounded like a great time for both of you guys.
jmb910 03-25-2008, 08:51 AM Great report! Here is how you can post pictures on here:
Upload them to a website like Photo Bucket.
Then Photo Bucket will give you a IMG Code underneath the picture.
When you are posting a reply in a thread, select the Insert Link Button. It will pop up a little box that you can put the IMG Code in or you can just post the direct link to the picture, in the thread.
I hope this helps so that you can put your pictures in your trip report!
Jennifer :)
MrsGrumpy 03-26-2008, 02:14 PM I was laughing out loud :D reading about Goofy and Spike! Love it!
What fun memories you guys made that day!
I'd love to see pics too. :)
houseofmouse 03-26-2008, 04:22 PM Okay hopefully this will work. Here are a few pics. The first is Spike attacking Goofy! Thanks for the help for posting pics.:)

Okay looks like it will work.
Day Five: Epcot and Animal Kingdom,
Tonight at AK we have priority seating for our anniversary dinner at Yak and Yeti. We started off at Epcot inside Innoventions East. My sons and dad did the new trash and recycle exhibit and thought it was great. I was too impatient to stand in the line to wait to get in, so I took pics and wandered around. We made it the Seas with Nemo and enjoyed Nemo light. At least this one gave you more time to see every scene, the subs at Disneyland go by too fast. We then explored a little, saw the Manatees,Rays and some of the fish and then we saw that Turtle Talk was going to start soon so we went to stand and wait. The kids were complaining they were getting hungry so I knew after Turtle talk we would have to go get lunch. I had the intention to go back to the Seas again but did not know then we would not make it back. Well, something to look forward to next time. Turtle talk was exactly the same at DCA, but hubby had never seen it so we watched. Crush did not talk to any of us but it is a cute show none the less. We ate lunch at the Electric Umbrella but not dad he really wanted to go to Mexico for lunch but the kids and myself were so hungry we ate at the first closest place. The food however unelectrifying was filling and we were off to use our Test Track fast passes and then lunch for daddy. Test Track awesome as usual, found a few hidden mickeys too! After Test Track we let the oldest take the other two to ride Mission Space and hubby and went off to enjoy some alone time at Mexico. We made sure cell phones were on and off we went for lunch. We ate at the food place outside and sat by the water. We listened to the Celtic band as they were quite loud and could be heard across the water. I helped hubby eat some chips and guac too. We chatted and had a nice time alone. About 30 mins later we went to meet up with the kids who were playing inside the area off Mission Space. We then caught the Jamminators and took some pics in front of Spaceship Earth and then headed off to AK for the rest of the day and EMH that night too.
Okay this has to be it for now, have to take DD to ballet. Will post more tonight!!:)
lizziemcguire76 03-26-2008, 09:04 PM Those are such cute pics...thansk for sharing!
MrsGrumpy 03-26-2008, 09:32 PM Yes!
Love the pics!
houseofmouse 03-27-2008, 06:09 PM We headed over to AK for a few rides and our anniversary dinner plus EMH tonight! I decided to take some pics of things I liked around the park.
http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1847.jpg
http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1850.jpg
We then got a snack, yup my family is crazy for snacks at theme parks! Usually not me because for some reason, excitement or otherwise I pretty much lose my appetite. We settled on frozen lemonade and headed off to explore the Tree the Life. We had fun looking at the animals and discover new animals we have not seen before.
At the end we ran into Terk. That was a fun experience, my DD gave me her autograph book to have Terk sign for her. Terk then went over to her and took her over with her. My DD was shy but okay, no tears. Terk also fell in love with my oldest son and tried to walk off with him waving bye to us. She made kissy noises at him and had fun. My son was a good sport and thought it was cool a character was making a big deal over him. While we were fussing over Terk and my son, my second son was lizard looking. He finally caught one! Of course we let it go after he showed us and looked at it for a few. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1858.jpg
We then headed over to Yak and Yeti for our dinner. We were pretty excited about dinner because we love Asian food. We waited 5 mins for our table. This restraunt is nicely themed and clean. As we went in, my DD informed me her legs were super itchy! I took her outside to have a look(inside Y&Y is a bit dark), the back of her legs were covered in small hives!! She was on amoxicillin for an ear infection and apparently was now having an allergic reaction! I called the doc. who told me as long as it was just her legs and she was feeling okay, just to give her Benadryl when we got back to the hotel. So dinner was yummy, but not really worth the money! I ordered the Honey Chicken and thought to share with my DD. There were 7 pieces of chicken and a ton of rice. For 14.00 you'd think there would be more food. The chicken was delicious and then my son shared some of his ribs with me, as there were 7 ribs on his plate!! So anyway we enjoyed our food, our waiter and the prices were a bit to be desired though. I probably would not eat there again but maybe try lunch at the counter service next time. :) Dinoland was after dinner, after we got our wristbands since EMH had started and then I ran around looking for more hidden mickeys. I found a few on Primeval Whirl :http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1866.jpg
and then we rode the rides except Dinosaur! Oh btw if anyone has found the hidden mickey pin on the dinosaur across from Triceratops Spin that has all the jewels on it and is in a planter box in Dinoland, would you please send me a picture!! I could not find it for anything!!
The park was not crowded at all and after Dinoland we rode Expedition Everest twice in a row with only about a 5 min wait!! So eventually the dark set in and we decided to go out of the park I think it was about 8 o'clock, to get some ice cream sundaes!!
That sundae ordeal was enough to about drive me crazy!! We ended up at Beaches and Cream after walking all the way around Boardwalk instead of taking the boat like normal people! The wait for a table was almost an hour! We tried to wait but ended up getting a regular hot fudge sundae at the take out counter and a milk shake for the kids. Apparently you can only get the fun sundaes at the tables in Beaches in Cream! Next time the Swan or Dolphin parlor for sure!! So that was the end of our fun day 5!
Day 6: Back to AK for Rafikis Planet Watch and MK!
I am going to do a new post so there is not so much to read. :)
houseofmouse 03-27-2008, 06:55 PM Day 6: Swimming, bikes,AK and MK
This morning was a nice morning. A little cool but nice. We ate breakfast in the food court and it was pretty good. The kids were dying to swim as the boys had swam once and my DD had not yet at all. So we decided to get to the parks a little later today and let the kids swim. I needed to do a load of laundry too and we wanted to do the bikes at our resort for a little while too. So after breakfast we put took the kids to the pool and dropped off our laundry to wash. The kids swam and had a blast! It was too cold for mommy and Dady the cold wimps. By today my DD was covered from neck to toes and hands too in little pink bumps. They were not so itchy but she got some more Benadryl just in case! I could not believe she was having this on our trip. She said she was a little embarrassed to swim since she had a two piece but I assured her no one cared about a little girl with spots on her body. They were not chicken pox but hives so no worries about getting anyone sick. After swimming we rode those bikes they had at the resort around for about 30 mins. They are fun!! It is fun to ding the little bell at people nicely on the paths.:) Loads of people waved and we enjoyed ourselves! Now all swam and biked out the kids showered and we were off to AK. Our goal there was Rafikis Planet Watch since we had not been over there yet.
We arrived and ate lunch at Pizzafari and Mickey crazy mom spotter another hidden mickey!http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1869.jpg this one is in the Nocturnal room at Pizzafari. We had a nice pizza and spaghetti lunch and rode the train to Rafikis!
On our way in we ran into PUSH and chatted with him for a few minutes and then held the door open for him to enter the building. :) PUSH is fun but his guy was way too easy to spot! So we did some things inside, saw and touched a snake, listened to the sounds of the rainforest. It gives me goosebumps every time and when the Jaguar is in the rainforest I swear he is going to bite my neck!!:) Next was Hidden Mickey time. I will admit by today it had become an obession!! There are a ton at Planet Watch and I will not post all of them but a few!! http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1872.jpg
http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1877.jpg
My DD had fun finding them all with me and I know we missed a few but they were everywhere! My favorite was :http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1879.jpg
Do you see it??
Next we watched the animal show outside by the petting area. They had an anteater and an Screaming Hairy Armadillo! They showed us how they train the anteater so they can care for her. She is a diabetic anteater and if she was not treated by AK she would eventually die. Who knew animals could have diabetes? It was fun little show and we chatted with the caretakers a little while after. There is a zoo/college in Cleveland my DD would love to go to. College and learning and working with animals at the same time! Wow, I would have loved to do that!
Next we headed back into the park and it was time for face painting!! Just DD this time as the boys wanted to wait until tomorrow.

Otters on the way out and the we were off to MK!
We rode in the front of the monorail! That is fun but the window was pretty scratched up so it was a little hard to see in front of us. Still fun!
Once again MK parking lot was not too crowded and we parked in Dopey and walked to the monorail stop.
Once inside the park, we let the boys go off for a few hours. They really wanted to go to TSI and we did not. So my son had his phone and they were off and so were we. We got a snack, big surprise!! I got one too as I like the chocolate chip cookies they have! We watched COP and got stuck and had to watch the Christmas scence twice! We rode Buzz again and then we ran into the boys and they rode Buzz and DD and Daddy rode the TTA. They got stuck on the TTA twice!! I really wanted to see the Dream Along with Mickey and as soon as they got off the TTA we rushed over to watch the show. Not too many people were watching so we had a pretty good view of the show. I did not really notice the eyes and mouth too much but my son though it was creepy. :) The show is cute and if you can catch it once I recommend it. I dont remember what we did after but maybe Big Thunder and Haunted. We then went to Cosmic Rays for dinner and we had a great time at dinner. Hubby and I had the roast chicken,(we shared) and we sat and watched Sonny Eclipse. Then CM's came in with hoola hoops and bean bags for learning to juggle. So we all tried some hoola hooping and the boys tried to learn to juggle. The CM's in there were great and it was nice time for the kids. I am amazed at how something so simple is so great at a place like MK, rides everywhere but they just want to hoola and juggle. Which was okay as my legs and feet were dying and needed a rest. Here is a pic of hoola hooping!http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1920.jpg yup that is my 14 year old who was too big for dream ears and such, hoola hooping in front of a lot of people! We were at dinner for over an hour!
More rides after dinner and it was pretty crowded by then and a bit chilly. We stayed until the park closed and walked through Fantasyland when it was totally empty! Kinda cool, everyone was either leaving or watching Spectromagic. So that was our Thursday. Hopefully you are not bored reading about our trip and want to read more!! :):)
Up next our fun and drizzly friday. Will the rain wash us out or will we endure and be rewarded??
MrsGrumpy 03-27-2008, 09:49 PM Not bored at all, and would love to read lots more!
I liked the silohuette style Hidden Mickeys. Those were cool.
lizziemcguire76 03-27-2008, 10:14 PM Your report hasn't been boring in the slightest..it's very entertaining and it sounds like your family had an amazing vacation and took home lots of great memories!
houseofmouse 03-30-2008, 10:08 AM As soon as I am done sulking about the fact my computer crashed yesterday after I sat typing for 45 mins yesterday but did not get to post it!!!! I was soooo mad!! I will post the last two days of our trip. :)
MrsGrumpy 03-30-2008, 10:52 AM Oh Such a Bummer! Come play with us on the Alphabet thread!
Cheer up. :)
houseofmouse 03-31-2008, 08:23 AM Okay since my computer crashed I am only going to post half our day friday.
Friday March 14th
Weather: Cool and a little overcast
My Mood: Grumpy! It was our last day at the parks!
We made it to Hollywood Studios right at opening. Son #2 was most excited to be back here with the cool rides and the stunt show!!
We did our pic in front of the big hat: http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rmomma/IMG_1952.jpg
First stop: fast pass for Rockin. Then daddy and I had a small breakfast snack of muffins and juice.
First official ride of the day: Tower of Terror. No wait to get into the hotel lobby. We saw the Dream Team enter and I thought we were going to win something. Yet they just stood there. It must not have been time yet to hand out prizes and I asked one of them if were too early. She replied " you are just in time for the ride." I replied that was not what I was talking about. She smiled, she knew. We were ushered into the t.v. room and won nothing.
The ride is great!! I love Florida version way better than DCA. Next stop Beauty and the Beast. We did see people come off Tower though with Fast passes. Just missed it.
Beauty and the Beast is a fun show. The pre-show group is fun! The only complaint I have about the show is they mashed the storyline too much. The set and costumes are beautiful.
We rode Rockin next and just missed the Dream Team again! I guess just ears for us this trip. We love Rockin, hubby said he wished it were a little longer.
We then headed over to watch the stunt show. We had pretty good seats even though the stadium was packed!! My boys love this show!
Muppets 3-D was next and we only had to wait a few mins before we could go in and sit down. I like the pre-show here too, it's fun. Someday I hope they add a new Muppets movie.
Lunch at ABC diner was next. The food was good but was the usual. We were hungry so we did not care. We rode Star Tours after lunch and found the hidden Kermit!! He is really cute and hard to spot if you are not looking. I love my Hidden Mickey book. We had a really fun time finding Mickeys at the park and our resort. Definitely get one if you like Hidden Mickeys! After Star Tours we sat down for Block Party Bash. I wanted to see if it was different than when it was at DCA. We thought we were sitting in the right spot at I asked before we sat down. We were then told we would only see the parade as it was done and walking back if we stayed there! GRRRRR.. so we walked down a ways and squeezed in a good spot to watch. Turns out we were waiting at the 2nd show stop. Hint: If you are also sitting at the 2nd show stop you wont see it until 15 mins after the time they state it starts. I think they need to mark the parade stops like they did in DCA so many a people are not upset that they too are in the wrong spot or are waiting for a show that is not starting for a while since it stops once and performs the whole show and then moves down to the 2nd stop. The show is fun! I went out and danced with the performers but I will not post a pic, sorry!! My kids were content to watch and my oldest would rather die than go out and dance. The parade is the same, but I feel sorry for those performers this summer when the Florida heat and humidity sets in. Yuck!!
So now it was almost 4 o'clock and we got a snack on the way out, pressed some pennies and headed off to Epcot. Tonight was EMH and we were also wondering if it was going to rain!!
MrsGrumpy 04-01-2008, 03:23 PM I'll have to pick up a Hidden Mickey book for our next trip. Sounds fun...and I've never heard of Hidden Kermit! What's that all about?
Looking forward to the next installment! :)
