Hey all,
My niece is going absolutely nuts about this trip. It's a month off and most of her class already knows. Anyway, I was wondering, is there a children's book that covers the little known facts about Disneyland? Ya know, the goat trick, the feral cats that live in the park, Walt's apartment, etc? She's seven, right now, and would probably read through it the week before we go, if it exists, that is.
I don't think so.
You may want to cull facts from this site and other Disneyland-oriented sites and give them to her for her information.
Looking for Hidden Mickeys in the parks can keep her busy for hours.

LOL--when I was in school we used to play "yahoo bingo" because there were a bunch of nits in our classes who always liked to hear themselves talk--each time they raised their hands we marked them off on our bingo pads (self-made--had the names of the nits in each box in different configurations) and whoever got three in a row would yell out "yahoo" (keep in mind this was way before the Internet!)
Anyway--your post got me to thinking about this--what if you made a game and made up a bingo card where you had the name of various characters in the boxes, and each time your niece saw one of the characters she marked them off, and when she got three in a row she got a treat (I'm thinking maybe buy a pin set and give her the lanyard first, then each pin) You could have different cards with different character combinations.
I think it would be really fun! (May have to do that for DBF's little girl next time we go . . . . . )

True, good suggestions guys. I think she'd like the hidden mickey idea. Amazon does have a book for it. It's kind of a big maybe though... I was kinda wishing there'd be a book that had encyclopedic information about myths, facts, and secrets about Disneyland that would be appropriate for a seven year old (IE, no flash-mountain or yippie stuff). I want her to get really excited in this month leading up to our trip, but I want her to channel all that excitement into learning about the park thru reading instead of going crazy and bouncing off the walls and, inevitably, getting sent to her room. Has anyone ever read one of those Hidden Mickey books on Amazon?

This might be what you are looking for:
101 things you never knew about Disneyland. It's written by Kevin Yee and Jason Schultz.
Totally fun book. Not quite " MOUSETALES" which is superb... But 101 is easy and fun.
