Does anyone know how Islands of Adventure is/will be affected by the Harry Potter addition. I hear that the Lost Continent is going to become Harry's area, but I haven't seen when the refurn is actually happening, and if it's going to happen while I'm planning on being there.

If you look here: http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/ It might answer some of your questions.
ETA: Look under the FAQ Section.
I can't check that out from work (the site comes up, but it's pretty much blank), so I will check it out later tonight.
Thanks
I got to check it out, and unfortunately their FAQ was vague. Hopefully the Dueling Dragons will be open. That looks like fun.

I don't know when you are going, but I am looking forward to them opening that part of the park. But maybe that is just because I am a huge Harry Potter fan. Also, for anyone else that might be interested, I thought this was a good article: http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=305030>1=7701
I'll be there this August (at the end of my Disney World trip), so it will be quite some time before Harry arrives.

Check out this link:

Scroll down a little bit and there is a huge section on Harry Potter and each entry is dated (start at the bottom for the early stuff) with updates as they are learned. There is a link to a map on that site too.
But according to the quotes from Universal in the Orlando news, Harry Potter will be a new island in between Lost Continent and Jurassic and it will incorporate part of the existing Lost Continent. The current restaurant and shop area in front of Dueling Dragons will have a major retheme to Harry Potter (including the train station arrival area and Hogsmeade village), the Dueling Dragons is already being repainted to match a new theme but no word on how the story or the coaster itself will be changed. The Flying Unicorn will be rethemed and the Hogwart castle itself will be in a large area next to the Flying Unicorn.
Also at least one new feature attraction ride will be added behind the Sinbad theater with a rumored walkway entrance that makes you walk through the forbidden forest.
Sinbad, Poseidons Fury and Mythos will remain part of a smaller Lost Continent. This was from a statement made by Universal. If you look at the art on the site, you can see how the current Lost Continent archway just after Sinbad could easily be the entrance to a new land.
