I asked this about the PPH but I think GC or the DLH would be better from what I've read. I was wondering how many of you have stayed in the DLH concierge and what it was like. Also, I see a lot of posts about the "towers" of different names(related to the hotel, not the Tower of Terror!) what are those and which is the best of you are light sleepers?

You are going to get a range of answers on if the extra cost is "worth it" and the only true answer is for you to look at the perks and decide if it's worth it for your family. Perks: The lounge is open from early morning (I want to say 6 but it might be 7 I don't recall) til just after fireworks each night (official close is 10pm) If you're a concierge guest you will be assigned a room on floors 9-11 in the Dream Tower (unless there is an error and they tell you your room is on the 3rd floor of the wonder tower  but they did fix that in rapid order) A concierge level room has a DVD player in it and gets turn down service with chocolates in the evening, turn down service can show up as early as 5pm and as late as 8:30 from our experience.
Lounge perks: access to the beverages all hours that the lounge is open ..there are always snacks available but they offer a very nice breakfast of pastries/toast/bagels/fruit/cold cereal & Milk and juices, coffee and teas. There are always cold coke products in the fridge and the small bottles of water. Mid day there are chips and fruit and the drinks, around 5 there is appetisers with the wine and beer service I won't call this 'free' cuz if you're paying 160 a night extra for the service none of this is free, it's just a nice convienance ....there is WiFi in the lounge if you want to take your laptop up and relax while taking care of emails or even just surfing. The staff at the lounge can make PS for you, find out about activites that are guest related like the Early program at Build a Bear or Sephora that are exclusive to on property guest not just concierge level guests.
As for your light sleeper question, DTD has a nice view but if you go to bed early it might not be your favorite, the music and noise from the bands that play drift up to the rooms on that side of the tower, the pool side rooms are much quieter.
If you're doing it for the food, how much will you save with the food offered vs the price to add it on...if you're doing it for the service of the concierge, ask yourself how many times you'll use their services...there really is no way for anyone to say it's a good value for you except you.

What is the Early program at Build a Bear? We are staying at the PP in 8 days and the last time we were in DTD(Dec 06) the line was outrageous for BaB. Thanks in advance!

Contact Vacation planning and ask to be registered, it's open to all on property guests but they limit it to a certain number and you get to go into the store an hour before opening. There is a $10.00 purchase requirement for each person registered but we never ever have a problem meeting that...our first trip we shared the store with one other family, our last trip it was a little less 'nice' because a group of people walked up and said oh oh oh we're staying at XXX can we do this we didn't sign up. The employees let them but they were understaffed for the number of guests in the store so things weren't as nice and it had more of a 'busy day' feel to the experience but we're doing it again in December.

Thanks! I'll call tomorrow! My 9yr old son LOVES BaB! He got the car for Christmas and patiently explained to me that he will need another car this year since its "only a two seater" and he needs to make sure all of his Bears(he does the dogs actually) have seatbelts. LOL

are the rooms in the dream tower any different?
If I were able to get the concierge at an ap rate of $250-275 a night would that be worth it? I don't know if I would go higher. We plan on going off-season but is getting that rate a pipe-dream?
Has anyone been to the story time at the GC?
thanks for the tip about the room being pool side. We will be traveling with an infant and a 5 year old so sleep will be precious.

We did concierge at the Disneyland Hotel in late November last year for a rate of $209 a night and it was well worth it to us. Since the park was only open from 10-8, we had breakfast in the concierge lounge every morning and took snacks into the park with us. Our first night we watched fireworks from the lounge and it was great. I loved the express elevator and the endless supply of Diet Coke. :D I can't imagine paying the $475 rack rate I saw quoted, though.
