We're staying at Port Orleans Riverside in April and have an ADR for Boma. What is the best way to get there from POR? Should we just take a cab? Appreciate any assistance. :)

Breakfast or Dinner?

If breakfast - take a cab - and then afterwards take the bus to the park of the day directly from there.

If dinner, you can go directly from the park you're in - or transfer through Downtown Disney (POR to DTD to AKL) or an open park (POR to Epcot to AKL). It takes a while with the transfers, though. I've generally started doing either the bus transfer through a nearby park to an evening meal, and then taxi back home. But for my upcoming Citricos meal, I'm going to take the bus to MK, monorail to GF, and then after dinner go into the MK to watch the parade and fireworks.

Here's what we did for dinner last May. Took AKL bus from AK; then after dinner hopped the first bus that showed up to an open park(knew that both Epcot and the MK were open) then transfered to our bus to CBR.

I would really recommend doing a taxi "home" to your resort. Much faster; shouldn't be that expensive and you could be tired coming straight from the parks for dinner. I knew that somehow we could have someone call a taxi for us-but this newbie forgot how it was done and I couldn't flag down anyone in the AKL lobby to ask. So-my $.02-figure it out before you arrive, then you won't have to worry.

How much time would you save with a taxi? Our return trip-from leaving Boma to arriving at CBR-about an hour-including wait time for buses on both ends. A taxi has to be about 15 minutes.

At AKL, or any of the deluxes, there's usually a bell-services person outside, or thereabouts, and they can get you a taxi (the taxi's are usually around, just 'hiding' from you!) I'm surprised you didn't see anyone, tjrj.

Another reason I've started taking taxis after dinner is because I enjoy a glass of wine (or two) with my meal (hence, why renting a car wouldn't help me out in this situation), and I'm usually nice and mellow and relaxed, and why ruin that by getting on a bus with a bunch of not-so-mellow kids and their somewhat harried parents.

It's a dinner ADR and we will probably be going from POR. Thanks to you all for your suggestions and ideas. I can hardly wait. 46 long days to go.

We've taken a taxi from the AKL. Just walk out the front door, and there is a valet window (to the right of the entrance, if memory serves), and they will call a cab for you. The cab came quickly, and we were back at our resort in minutes. Probably cost around $20. After a good dinner, and a glass or two of wine, I did not feel like taking a bus and then transfering to another bus to get back to our resort.
