I am sooo up in the air about this place as I heard it was dirty inside.DS loves little einsteins and I like the fact it is a loud place as he is pretty lou himself lol...Is the food good? Are the choices strange?? I noticed some kind of chicken with berry sauce..um yuk..DH hates waiting for anything and he is not one to enjoy a push and shove buffet..he does love the Beach Club buffet day and night but is this one more of a sizzler line lol...:fez:

I wish I could help. The last time we ate there we loved it! But that was like 5 years ago. And yes, some of the items were unique, which is why we liked it so much. So you might be better off somewhere else. There really isn't anywhere else I'd recommend at Disney Studios.

I see that the question was about the character breakfast. Does anyone have any opinions of the dinner? We made a reservation with the Fantasmic package (one of the things that I didn't get to see on the last trip).

We did the Fantasmic package at Hollywood & Vine in Feb '05 and it was fine (the food & level of cleanliness) but that WAS 3 years ago. We'd do it again based on that experience.:)

I've done dinner there twice. The first time was when they still had Mickey and friends characters, probably about four years ago. The second time I think was about three years ago, when they had no characters for a time. I thought the food was still good, but the dessert buffet was not as good as the first time. They had mostly regular food, nothing really different as far as I remember.

Went there for dinner back in August. Service was excellent and the food was very good. We liked the variety that was offered and it seemed like we all got something that we really enjoyed.

Never did anything but dinner there, but we will continue to go back every once in a while.

I'll just say that I find it to be that I never book a character meal for the food.

If your kid(s) want to eat with The Little Einsteins, Princesses, Pooh, etc. go for it just don't expect a great meal.

That said we do enjoy the food at The Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, and Cape May Cafe and mightgo just for the food, but there are others that are a one and out kind of deal.

YMMV as usual.

I understand that different people like different things, but I'm really surprised that anyone likes Hollywood and Vine. We've been there for dinner (no lunch) three times in the last year, and I will never go again. The tables are too close, the food borders between bad and OK, but certainly not worth $30, and the service has been terrible all three times. Be warned - the last two times I ordered a martini, and we were almost finished eating when it arrived. The bar is shared with the Prime Time Cafe next door, so I assume that any alcoholic drink will take a very long time. There are so few dining options in this park that we were "forced" to go there in January after we missed our ADRs in the Cape May Cafe, but the next we'll just starve or buy a hot dog.

We've been there a couple different times (with the F! dinner package) and enjoyed it. Food has been good; no problems with the service--and we've been there just with our family (4), as well as with a larger group.

I do think you've got to have the correct expectations before going in, though. Realize that it is a buffet restaurant within a theme park, and I think you'll be well satisfied.

We booked the Fantasmic package Oct 06 and thought it well worth the money - staff were very helpful and even arranged a portion of fries for DS who is a fussy eater from the adjoining diner- would go again without hesitation:):)

I've been twice (2006 and 2007) and found it okay. They had a decent selection that included mac and cheese and chicken nuggets both times on the kids buffet section. I also remember a salmon dish that I liked a lot too... The dessert buffet is great, but drinks take FOREVER to get.

We went because we were on the meal plan, so price wasn't a factor. I'm not sure if I would pay full price without the meal plan though...

We ate there about 3 years ago, and will never go back. There was 8 of us, and we were laughing and have our usual good Disney time, and our waiter was NOT amused. He thought we were all drunk, and did not want to serve us any liquor! Heres the best part, non of us drink! The food was good, and there were some fancy choices. We only tried it once, and since have gone back to Sci Fi, or Prime Time.....its just better for us. Hey, we are from Indiana, and not really fancy folk!

Have not done the character lunch or brekkie here (have it booked for next trip) but did the Fantasmic! dinner package in 2007. My memories - we waited ages to get in past our reservation time, but perhaps I recall this so much because it was raining and we were waiting outside with some particularly obnoxious people; the tables were pretty shoulder to shoulder; the food was fine for us grown ups but the children liked Chef Mickey's and the Crystal Palace selections much better; the puddings, if I'm remembering the right thing, were brilliant, all little squares of stuff but lots and lots of them, I think this was here (!) I ordered a white wine here and could probably have crushed the grapes myself it took so long to arrive. It was clean - I am a clean freak and would definately recall if it had been dirty.

We did the character lunch in Feb. 06 because we were very hungry and it was the only place in MGM that could take us without a significant wait. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the buffet was. And we are extremely picky eaters! The desserts were good as well. Our fav place at MGM / Hollywood Studios is the Brown Derby, but we always save that one for dinner as we are doing in Sept. with the Fantasmic seating.

We had JoJo, Goliath and 2 of the Einsteins. BUT we later saw the other Einsteins just passed where they have the Little Mermaid show (across from where Millionaire used to be.) So it is probably possible to skip this lunch and still see the Einsteins elsewhere in the park.

Clint - why are you quoting threads and not adding anything - I saw it on another thread too? Are we missing something
