I am planning my WDW visit for December. I am obviously a bit of a planner, so I am tempted to book my trip now. BUT, I also want to wait for discounts and such. How long should I wait?

thanks everybody!

Book as soon as you have your dates set. If any discounts come out that you're eligible for, you can call Disney and have them applied to your reservation. Also, if you're eligible for a AAA discount, there are only limited numbers of those available in each resort, so you'll want to book them as soon as you can. And when codes come out, they have limited availability as well, sometimes more limited than others. I've had times where I've switched resorts to take advantage of a discount, and one time I even moved up a class of resort since with the discount, the moderate was the same price as the undiscounted value.

If you're going in the last part of December, don't hold your breath for a discount code, either.

You can hold off on booking your air, and add the info for Magical Express later (if you're taking advantage of that free service), if that's a reason for holding off.

If you are going in the latter half of December you should have already booked! That's peak season. The first half of December is more open, but still, book early and you won't be disappointed.

What Drince said. Codes can be applied as they become available.

Ty for the help. We are going EARLY December - I hate crowds - so there are still rooms availabe. But I will lock one down soon.

TY again.

We are going in April 2009- when can you book for that? I am guessing 6 months ahead- or should we do sooner?

Sooner the better. While you have to come up with a deposit, if something happens where you cant go, you can cancel up to 45 days before arrival without penalty. It makes it easy just in case....

Personally, I would give it a shot as soon as you can. You will have to call instead of using the website but call and see what they can do for you. We have booked trips more than 12 months in advance in the past with no problems.

Since with April 09 you're probably talking spring break season, I'd call more than 6 months out - because you want to have your room all settled when you can first make your ADRs.
