Where could I get Disney Dollars outside of the theme parks? I just found out that Disney sold their retail stores to a third party, and a phone call revealed they don't have Disney money there.

My son just bought Disney Dollars at our store last week and according to the store I just called today(I am looking for something other than Cinderella or Dumbo) they are still carrying them. Not sure if that is all stores or until they run out.

Just what, exactly are Disney Dollars? We're going in October and instead of my family just plunking down cash in my son's lap for his trip, can I tell them to get these instead?

Are they good in the park for merchandise only or can they be used at DTD, for food, etc?

They can be used anywhere in the park (food, merchandise, ODV carts, etc..) and can be used in WOD and Marcelines in DTD. We have never tried anywhere else, but I would doubt it. You can get them at Disney Stores and at the park.

Get the disney visa and use the rewards card money- ia rewards card is like a regular visa with only so much on it-like a gift card- you can pick how much to put on it with a min 20 . If you use it for your eveyday purchases and online bill pay you can rack up at least $100+ by October. We spent all ours last oct and already have $85+ ready to go, my husband uses it to pay college tuition which is huge chunk of change! Just be sure to pay it off on time- tons of other great benefits too.

you can also purchse disney dollars in city hall in side of disneyland. I also love to use them in leiu of cash! If you use a credit card your can use like a cash advance but you won't get charged like one, the crecit card co sees it like a gift card purchase. Another great thing is that if you don't use all your diseny dollars on your trip you can exchnge them back for cah, just be sure to hold on to your receipt. I hope this helps:)

When the kids were little I'd give them so many Disney Dollars each morning for treats and souvenirs it seemed to make the trip special with special magic money. Can you still by it online? I know you can buy gift cards online but I'm not sure about the DD.

They can be used for anything at any Disney owned location.
