Hi,
I was wondering if anybody had some experience going in august and what week is the best to go. We are trying to plan a 7 night , 8 day trip with 5 days in the park. So any insight to the best week would be very appreciated. :D Thanks

We are going in August, too, and I am all ready planning on long wait times, and busy busy busy! I think if you go anytime June through August, you are going to run into the crowds. Its summer, and a lot of families are vacationing. I think maybe the last week in August, because some of the schools may be back in....? Just a thought. Hopefully someone that can answer you a little better will give you some more insight. :)

Yeah We usually go the second week in july, but I was just curious if august was worse than july. I heard there was a week that wasnt blocked and all the people with an ap came or something like that. And also does anyone know when they change to closing at 8. Thanks so much for replying:)

I don't believe they start shortening park hours until September. I've been there in August a couple times and it's pretty busy but not horrific. Then again, I've never been on an off-time, so I can't really compare properly. We'll be going this July so I'll be able to compare the months then...I'm hoping they're about the same!

We went the last week of August last year and had an amazing trip. The waits were no more than 10 minutes (except Nemo) and the only drawback was that the Electrical Parade and Fantasmic! were only shown on the weekends.

i found august to be less crowded then july. we have gone the last week of august which was really nice as a lot of hte so. cal. schools are back in session. and we also went the first week of august last year and it wasnt bad. i mean it was summer crowds, but it wasnt like you couldnt go on rides.

I'd go as late in August as possible-- like the last week. The crowds are much smaller because so many kids are back in school, but the summer hours, weather, and attractions are still there.

Yeah , I think we might be going aug 20-27 but it is still up in the air!!!! :) Thank you everbody!!!!!

We went August 19-21 2007 and although there were crowds the only time they were intimidating to me were at night during the crowd controls for Fireworks/Fantasmic! (Keep in mind that I had never been at night before) Our key was definitly RideMax. Spend the $ and time to plan and you won't be bothered by the crowds at all! Have a blast.

Whoo-hoo! Just got a reservation made at the Residence Inn for Aug 17 - 22. Finally got a decent rate using their "look no further" guarantee :).

DH and I are going Aug 9-12 for my b-day. I have been trying to find a place to stay and they are all so much more expensive than even May. I haven't been able to find anything under $100 a night. I am prepared though to be hot (although not as hot as home) and to have it be busy. But I plan to have fun!

we'll be there august 7-11. i can't wait! look on hotels.com i saw some rates for under $100.

Just booked 8/18 - 8/22 at GCH... and we arrive on my birthday!!
