First it was Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Is Survivor: Animal Kingdom next?

I have to disagree with this article.
A version of AI at WDW-HS would be fun. While the age participation needs to be opened up to everyone (with the understanding that the Fox show does have an age restriction), I think this could appeal to a wide audience.
And it fits in perfectly with the theme of the park. Yes, Superstar Television was a blast, but it only allowed for a very small handful of people to participate on stage. An AI show would allow for more.

I can so see this becoming a huge "local" thing, especially on the weekend, for the 14-twenty-whatever crowd. That's one thing that WDW has in the past not allowed to take over anything (that is actually one of my gripes with DL).
I'm not a fan of the show, so obviously I'm not the target audience for this attraction - but I really don't think that the Studios needs yet another stage show. There will be some participation by those of the right age, but for those who are 'too old' or 'too out of tune' to do it, that's all it is, another stage show. And my theme park time is too valuable to listen to amateur singers 'show their stuff' on the off chance that one or two might be decent. I'll head over to Epcot and sit on the floor of the Rotunda in the American Adventure if I want to hear some singing!
