View Full Version : The 4 parks buffet restaurants
Leslie 03-02-2008, 03:19 PM I know this is a tall question, but could anyone please name the 4 parks restaurants that serve the all u can eat buffets? The walk up table service wont do for husband. He's a big eater and if he doesent get enough food he whins like a kid. So I would like to get ahold of a list so I can be ready to find him a buffet when he gets hungry. We will mostly be in the parks so I know we wont need a list to the resorts. Thanks for all the help.:)
jenjustinsmom 03-02-2008, 03:53 PM You really need to make some reservations. Is it just the two of you? We really like liberty tavern in Mk. It is sit down but they bring you platters of food that you can always ask for more. crystal Palace is a walk up buffett. that is what i can think of right now. are you going to the dining plan?
Drince88 03-02-2008, 03:56 PM Many of the buffet restaurants in the parks are character meals.
Animal Kingdom - Tusker House
Magic Kingdom - Plaza Restaurant (Pooh Characters all day) and Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner, served family style with characters
Studios -Hollywood & Vine
Epcot - Biergarten, Norway Princess Dining (all Princesses), Garden Grill (family style, with characters).
You can read descriptions of the restaurants and menus for most of them on MousePlanet - go to the Walt Disney World link at the top of this page, click on a park, and expand the dining section to review the restaurants - then click on a specific restaurant for additional information.
ETA - and like JenJustinsMom said - you need ADRs for any table service/buffet restaurant (buffets are considered Table Service in Disney-speak) you want to enjoy.
kymom99 03-02-2008, 05:33 PM Even though you think you will be in the parks, don't rule out some of the resort buffets. It's fun to visit the different hotels as a break from the parks. Chef Mickey's is a very short distance from Magic Kingdom and is a good breakfast. I haven't eaten at Trail's End, but it is reported to be a reasonably priced choice at the Ft. Wilderness campground. There are many others to consider.
Do check out the menus and see what sounds good to you!
ashleyanne119 03-02-2008, 05:35 PM The Pooh Buffet at the Magic Kingdom is actually the Crystal Palace. The Plaza is by menu.

For a bit more grown-up atmosphere, and some different food choices, consider Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The soup selection is fantastic, and there are lots of different foods to try. If you are into seafood, particularly clams, the Clambake buffet at the Beach Club hotel is a good choice. It's a short walk from the International Gateway at Epcot.

That's correct. I always mess that up because the location of the Crystal Palace is the same place as the Plaza in Disneyland. You'd think I'd double check something I always mess up before I hit the submit button!

This one I never forget we hit it every trip. :) My kids love Pooh and my husband loves it as well.
mzloolue 03-03-2008, 08:09 AM Trail's End could be a fun lunch if you catch the boat from MK to Ft. Wilderness.
I like to do lunch at Biergarten while the oompa oompa band is playing.
Hoy, hoy, hoy!
91wingnut 03-03-2008, 01:48 PM I guess the first question has to be: will you be traveling with the kids?
If so (it actually doesn't matter with me, I love Mickey too - and the grub!) then I would HIGHLY recommend Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort for dinner.
It is a character dinner (the big 5) that has the BEST food in my opinion of any buffet in WDW (liberty tavern in MK is a close second).
They have 2 kinds of ravioli's, all kinds of sauteed veggies, incredible parmesian mashed red potatoes, a large salad bar, desert bar, and carving stations that have turkey breast, ham, or my favorite prime rib. Then there is a child's section with Mikeyroni (I HAD to try that), chicken fingers, pizza, ham and veggies. The little Mrs. and myself, along with our 12 (adult at WDW) and 7 yr old went for about 125.00 with tip and tax. It was great!
A tip: if you are a late eater, get an ADR about 1.5-2.0 hrs before MK closes. That way, after you are done eating, you can walk to the MK end of the Contemporary and stand on the end balcony (outside) and watch the fireworks from MK. It is a great way to end the day. We did that (8:20pm ADR) and the kids (and me too) loved it! :fez:
scoobydooby 03-03-2008, 02:06 PM If you go to allears there is a link that separates out the all-you-can-eat places from everywhere else.
dahunter1129 03-03-2008, 03:20 PM The Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge has an "All you care to eat" skillet that has ribs, chicken, pork, potatoes, baked beans, and lots of other stuff....we could barely walk whenwe were done...actually, it was pretty much a waddle...your hubby won't be whining about not getting enough to eat here...and a big plus, they bring the food to you!

http://allearsnet.com/din/buffet.htm Best list ever. My DH and I are huge fans of the Disney all-you-can-eats. Ironically, we never eat at buffets anywhere else.
Our favorites: Cape May Cafe Clam Bake Buffet; Boma; Liberty Tree Tavern; and now Tusker House.
petesimac 03-04-2008, 09:40 AM BOMA! BOMA! BOMA! At Animal Kingdom Lodge. Excellent food and ambiance.

Also, they have unlimited milkshake refills!!!!!!!
I loooved Tusker House's breakfast buffet, it was really really really good! And I've done Chef Mickey's for dinner, also, very good! Boma at AKLodge is excellent, and Garden Grill or Liberty Tree Tavern's all you can eat platters are my favs!
I have also done Hollywood and Vine's buffet and the one at Biergarten and liked both very well, too! Oh, and Ohana at the Polynesian is all you can eat and it is realllllly good!
