View Full Version : Pirates of Nassau
HTHBellcaptain 08-30-2002, 06:34 PM A couple of years ago, when I went on a 4 day Disney cruise, I went to a really cool museum in Nassau. It was called Pirates of Nassau. They had some neat pirate artifacts, information, and amazing set recreations. They even have their employees getting into the act.
They have created part of the port of Nassau as it was back in the 1700s inside.
I was very impressed. I hope it's still operating.
Matterhorn Fan 09-11-2002, 04:18 PM Pirates are cool.
So this sounds a bit like a living museum type thingie, am I getting this right? Something along the lines of Colonial Williamsburg?
And what, exactly, do you mean by "amazing set recreations"? Do you mean there are sets there that recreate authentic pirate settings, or do you mean that there are recreations of sets from things like pirate movies or Broadway musicals? (Both options sound kinda neat.)
Do people go in costume? Did you go in costume?
Do they ever have performances of The Pirates of Penzance there? ;)
(Alright, I'm ending this post, as it seems to be getting really silly really fast . . . )
HTHBellcaptain 09-11-2002, 07:15 PM It is sort of like a living museum, but not nearly as big as Williamsburg, VA. Of course, it's just one museum under one big roof.
By Amazing set recreations I was referring to recreations of Nassau not movie sets. That was an odd choise of words on my part.
Only the people who work there go in costume, but if you decide to go in a period costume let me know. I would love to take pictures that I could blackmail you with later. :D
