View Full Version : Those of you who have done the VIP Tour some questions...
keeperofzoo 02-28-2008, 03:44 PM I did a "Fantasmic" search and was reading people's experience with the VIP Tour. It sounds like a better "deal" to do the tour and get PS for all types of shows and stuff; than to just pay for the Fantasmic PS. Am I right on this? There are 5 of us (2 adults & 3 kids).
That being said...we are going April 7-11 and not all the shows/events are being shown every day we are there. Can I set up the tour on Monday/Tuesday and still get PS for the other shows/events for the remainder of the week?
Can you request a specific tour guide? What do you bring/give them as a thank you?
I hope I am making sense.....
Thanks:fez:
hlbtimes2 02-28-2008, 08:45 PM During non busy times they will make seating arrangements for days other then the day of your tour. During busy times they will limit what days you can get seating. We were there in late April last year and had seating spread out over 2-3 days. F! was not showing during that time, so we didn't get that one. The tour was great, but the some of the reserved seating they get you is not the best. The fireworks and parade are from the train station. Its not a place I would choose if I was picking. The Elec. parade in DCA is at the end, right before it goes back stage. We looked at the seating for that, and decided to skip it and get seating on the curb closer to the begining of the route. The seating for Aladdin is the same as using the vouchers that come with disney travel packages.
The highlights of our tour were jedi training and the ride on the LillyBelle.
keeperofzoo 03-04-2008, 01:48 PM One I am bumping to see if anyone else has anything to add. Two - I called the VIP service and left a message on Friday to call me. How many days should I wait before calling them again?

They can be slow to return calls. I think they only have a few people who work in the booking and when one is out on vacation, you may not get a call back. This happened a couple of times to me after I booked and had a question and was really my only complaint. However, I got the guy's email address and he always got back to me. Still, I would call back.
Ask the tour people everything you want. They should be able to tell you if you will be able to book multiple days' seatings before you book the tour. When I asked, they could not because our tour was at Christmas.
I enjoyed the special seating for the simple fact that I had a guaranteed seat and did not have to wait 2+ hours to get it. I didn't care where it was, as long as I could see the fireworks and Fantasmic! :) That being said, I thought the Fantasmic seating was great!
Malcon10t 03-04-2008, 07:09 PM I had the same issues with calling the VIP the first time. But she ended up emailing me, and after that, I just emailed her for future tours and everything was much smoother.
Ask the guide for what you need. They will give you what they are able to. RIDE THE LILLLY BELLE!!!
MammaSilva 03-04-2008, 07:12 PM Another question for the VIP veterans here....did I mis read an earlier post? I know that the lilly belle and the reserved seats with no food for fantasmic are part of the package, but can they 'guarentee' that your little ones would be selected for the Jedi training?

Yes, I was wondering this too!!!

I know that the lilly belle and the reserved seats with no food for fantasmic are part of the package, but can they 'guarentee' that your little ones would be selected for the Jedi training? For us, they wouldn't "guarantee" it, but all 4 of the boys got picked at a very busy time. The Guides help them make signs, go with the kids down front, and they get the kids acting enthusiastic. Of all the people I know who took the VIP tour who did the Jedi Academy, the kids always get picked. BUT, they do not guarantee it.
hlbtimes2 03-04-2008, 08:24 PM Our tour guide printed out star wars signs for us. We only ended up needing one of them, as my son was afraid and didnt want to do it. She took the sign and gave it to another guide that had a family there at the same time. (The other guide was not as prepared). My dd was picked, as were both children from the other family. I would say its a pretty good chance you of them picking you if you are with a visible guide.
They also helped us get to the front of some rather long character lines.
MammaSilva 03-04-2008, 08:52 PM Thanks everyone, I go to the park 3/4 times a year with 3 very special little guys that I adore beyond reason ...it would be worth the price of the tour just for that perk alone! So far the big boys have been able to participate once but little guy was too young...he turns four soon so I'm thinking a nanna might be plotting a tour in the fall when he's old enough and the oldest isn't too old...the fact they are all train addicts to boot....riding the lilly belle, doing the jedi...I'd think the only other real biggie I'd be asking about is getting them in the tender for a trip around the park....they would think it was their birthdays and Christmas rolled into one.
Malcon10t 03-04-2008, 09:11 PM hlb and I have used the same guide, and she is absolutely awesome. First, she got us on the Matterhorn, and while we were riding, she headed to Jedi to get us excellent seats. When we got there, we had the best seats there. She started the boys on signs, then took our orders and went and got lunch for us. When she came back, she (and her partner, we had 2 as there were 14 of us) took the boys down to the front with about 80 other kids to get picked. The boys were on top of the world. I do think having a plaid right there with them helps. But they did not guarantee the boys would be picked.
MammaSilva 03-04-2008, 10:53 PM Just to be clear, it's 4 hours miniumum and 10 people for 1 guide?
Malcon10t 03-05-2008, 06:36 AM Just to be clear, it's 4 hours miniumum and 10 people for 1 guide?
Yes, $75 an hour for 4 hours minimum. Maximum 10 people to 1 guide. We had 14 people and 2 guides. It was great having 2, as in a couple areas, 1 guide stayed with the adults, while the other guide took the "younger crew" elsewhere for a couple rides.
witneys7 03-16-2008, 06:13 PM Hi-
Just a few questions about the tours. What all is involved? What are the perks to having a private tour? Could someone sell it to me please :D as it sounds very enticing but I want to be sure it's worth $300, you know?
Thanks!!!!

Thanks!!!!Its a private tour, so it involves what YOU want. Each time we have done it, we have had different reasons. Our first time we had a huge group and had certain things I wanted. The last time, my son was getting engaged, and having the tour made it easier to get access to the wheelhouse of the Mark Twain so he could propose. What do you WANT from it. That is the bigger question.
