Thanks:) jengold29 02-28-2008, 02:44 PM I'll answer you- yes. Sometimes it's in your room, plugged in and ready to go and sometimes you have to wait for it. We've even had a broken one delivered (it never got cold) and had to call for a replacement. bradk 02-28-2008, 03:00 PM it actually shouldn't be.. unless.. even if your room is pre-assigned, it's not yours until you actually check-in. up until then, it's free to be re-assigned to anyone else checking in before you unless it's blocked (which is usually for medical reasons and there need to be good reasons for it). so if you arrive at the hotel and your room is ready, there shouldn't be anything extra in there waiting for you. it's possible however that if your room isn't ready when you check in that it's delivered before you actually make it to your room. Leslie 02-28-2008, 03:24 PM Yes, we have reserved one for liquid medicine and we wont be checking into Pop until around 4pm. so Im hoping it will be in and cold as the medicine will be setting out all day on the flight. Could I possibly call that day and ask if it could be put in before we get there? Or not a good idea? Thanks bradk 02-28-2008, 03:39 PM they may do it differently for medicinal purposes, that I don't know. you can always call and ask, although the number you call will get you to a central operator, not the resort itself (if you press for it, you should be able to get them to transfer you to the real front desk) 91wingnut 02-28-2008, 06:15 PM Leslie, My son is a type 1 diabetic, so we always need a fridge for his insulin. A good tip is to always ask the CM to check with maintenance (they put them in the room for some reason) and see that the fridge is there while you are checking in. Of all the trips to WDW, it has only been missing once, and the maintenance man was at the room as we were bring our suitcases in installing it after the CM had called to see if it was there yet. They really do try their best when it comes to medical needs. Also, if you need to take the meds to the park, take them in a small cooler bag or even a zip lok bag with ice. Any concession stand will give you a cup of ice for free as long as you show them what it is for; I do it all the time for the insulin with no problems. Lastly, if you are flying with the meds, remember that only an ice pak is acceptable to bring on the plane to keep them cool. Loose ice will melt too fast, and the fluid will not get past the TSA while going through security (they have restrictions on fluid being carried on board). And dry ice is a big no-no also because it displaces oxygen. Hope this helps...............Wingnut:fez: houseofmouse 02-28-2008, 09:44 PM Yes, we have reserved one for liquid medicine and we wont be checking into Pop until around 4pm. so Im hoping it will be in and cold as the medicine will be setting out all day on the flight. Could I possibly call that day and ask if it could be put in before we get there? Or not a good idea? Thanks We had to take medicine on a plane that needed to be kept cold. We packed it in ice and double ziplocked bagged it. It did not leak and stayed pretty cold. I would suggest that too and if the fridge is not there and ready, fill and ice bucket and keep the medicine cold until the fridge is cold. :) danyoung 02-29-2008, 06:16 AM It should also be noted that moderates and deluxes all have mini-fridges in all rooms. Only the values do not. tdelaney_98 02-29-2008, 06:53 AM Leslie, My son is a type 1 diabetic, so we always need a fridge for his insulin. We were just saying that we were waiting for you and NJMike to make an appearance (different thread). Your ears must've been burning! 91wingnut 03-03-2008, 12:54 PM Thanks! Been quite busy with school/work for both me and me bro' Mikey. We are talking about maybe doing a 5 day quickie in early Dec to the House of Mouse, so we'll try and start hanging around to catch up on the latest with you all if that's OK! We have to give La Patisserie (sp?) time to restock our favorite delicacy, especially since Mikey can usually eat enough schocolatte moussse to feed a small village......:fez::fez: Leslie 03-03-2008, 01:45 PM I just read where if your requesting a free frig. at the Pop for medicine they give you a real small one since it's free. If you want to pay for one you get a bigger one. Anyone ever hear of this before? I find it strange that they would have 2 sizes if you get it free or pay for it. Thanks:) GusMan 03-03-2008, 01:57 PM Well, they are all rather small, regardless. I think only the ones in the suites and/or villas are slightly bigger. (But then again, going off of memory from some past pictures. Drince88 03-03-2008, 02:02 PM One time I stayed at Pop I was in an 'accessible' room (lower bed, roll-in shower, etc) - must not have had any requests for it, since I sure don't need it. There was a refrigerator that came with that room automatically, and I think it was smaller than the ones at the moderates - not quite as deep. It may have been my imagination, though. I don't know if that's what they were referring to, Leslie. 91wingnut 03-04-2008, 05:44 AM As far as I know there is only one size at the value resorts. It is a small "cube" size refrigerator that will surely be large enough for the meds. We usually put a 2 liter bottle of soda in the bottom shelf, a few cheese and grape plates and some milk from the food court on the top shelf (to keep the kids happy at all hours LOL) and put the insulin in the door. Plus, there is a little freezer pocket up top that will freeze a small icee brick (but not much else will fit). All in all I think you'll be fine even with the "cube". Remember, the rooms are small enough, you don't want a real big fridge. These are small and light enough that you can easily lift it and put it where you want, out of the way.:fez: Wingnut............. TOM!!!! Just a few off-topic words.... MOUSSSSEFEST 2008: December 13! :D:D:D:D tdelaney_98 03-09-2008, 07:12 PM YESSS!! Moussefest! I'm in! Fingers crossed, anyway! 91wingnut 03-10-2008, 07:43 AM We'll try our best to be there! We've hit our first roadblock for our supposed Dec quickie trip: Uncle Sam (and his evil twin brother George W.) have taken a much bigger chunk of our tax refund than they did last year. That usually makes up the majority of our trip fundage. So we're starting our creative accounting process, and we'll just see how that goes!:fez: Leslie 04-16-2008, 05:01 AM I might have asked this before but I cant remember for sure so I will ask again and remember this time. lol Is there a difference in refrigerator size at the Pop for meds you get for free and the ones you rent? Or are they all the same size? I did read somewhere that the meds frig. they give you are no bigger then a gallon of milk. Does anyone know if there is truth to that? Thanks alot..:) stan4d_steph 04-16-2008, 05:26 AM I might have asked this before but I cant remember for sure so I will ask again and remember this time. You can search for previous threads/posts and limit it to what you yourself have posted by entering your screen name in the user box.
