OK, here's the film geek in me totally making an appearance - we found out today that a restored version of "Metropolis" is scheduled to be released this fall, with the original soundtrack. Go to the official website (http://www.kino.com/metropolis/) for further details. We're going during its run at the Nuart in Los Angeles.

I can't wait!

Very Cool!

But I have to laugh because I probably own 3 previously "Restored" versions all with different soundtracks. Such is the challenge of preserving such an early silent film. Can't wait to see his one though.

Actually, no. Even George Melies "A Trip to the Moon" pre-dated "Metropolis" by more than 20 years.

I keep seeing the DVD at the impulse buy section of the supermarket (when did movies become impulse buys?) and thinking "shoot, I have to remember to rent that." I never remember. Still haven't seen it.

Well then damn you techtv!:D

But still it is impressive that they were able to restore it since this was way before anyone cared about saving the films.
