I just read from map quest that the Doubletree suites in Downtown Disney is 1.54 miles away from downtown disney to walk it. Could that be possibly right? Anyone know for sure how far it is from this hotel to the Rainforst cafe to walk it? Also how much closer to Downtown in the Royal Plaza then the Doubletree? Thanks so much.:)

By road from the Doubletree entrance to the intersection of Hotel Plaza Blvd and Buena Vista Blvd is about 1/2 mile.

If you look at the hybrid map of the area, from the intersection, in order, are the Hilton, Holiday Inn, Royal Plaza and finally Doubletree is closest to Crossroads.

My wife and I stayed at the Doubletree a couple years ago and didn't really have any problem with the 15-20 minute walk to DTD. But i wouldn't to do that walk late at night. It's pretty dark and isolated.
