In terms of a split stay between the Poly and PO, that's no problem. Disney moves your luggage for you. I'm unclear as to why you couldn't make the reservation before you left the UK-if you are talking about simply adding a stay at the Poly to your 3 weeks(!!!) stay at PO. You can make that addition before you leave. Or are you talking about doing the split stay from within your package? That I'm not sure about. My guess would be "no"-for two reasons. As you purchased from an outside operator rather than Disney directly-it's quite possible that Disney sold the operator a block of rooms at PO itself and not simply room space that's available at any Disney hotel. Second reason, if you waited until you arrived, the Poly might be sold out for your dates.

Or, you might wind up paying alot more for your room at the Poly you would have had you booked initially at the Poly thru the tour operator. For example several years ago, I'd booked a package thru AAA for a stay at the Disneyland hotel(in CA). Good room rate. While at DLH, I inquired about adding one night to our package rather than moving to a cheaper off-site hotel. Sure, no problem-but...the room rate was nearly twice what we'd paid for the preceeding night in our package.

But...as stated above...all of that is a guess. Is your tour operator unable or unwilling to help you with your concerns/questions? Can you call Disney directly and ask them?

i was thinking of doing a split stay within my package you could be right that they sold our tour operator a block of rooms so it wont be possible to change.unfortunately travel agents are not very flexible in the uk and you cannt book just a few days the least you can book is a week.anyway thanks for the help tjrj and well done on the 102 pounds

Thanks for the kind words.

One thing-if you have your heart set on spending time at the Poly-then do so! You don't have to be a resort guest to...breakfast at Kona; dinner at Ohana's; enjoy the Spirit of Aloha show; grab a dole whip(self-serve) at Captain Hook's; rent a mouse racer at the marina; watch the MK fireworks and water pagent(sp) from the Poly beach. The only thing you're not supposed to do is pool hop.

another way of having a stay at the Poly if you can not change your reservation (which I think is pretty weird!) is to just eat the cost of those now unwanted nights already paid for at PO, and make a brand new reservation for the extra nights; don't go through your TA - just ring WDW directly and make a room-only reservation at the Poly. If you have the dining plan attached to your original package then it will be included on your room keys at the PO, and will have the expiration date of your official (ie original) check-out date. you can keep using the room key for entry to the park and dining even though you are no longer at the PO. maybe consider not checking out of the PO, just moving your stuff to the Poly, and coming back to check out at the end of your trip...

seems a bit extreme but its another thing to think about.

Disney can be very accomodating. Its not like you are asking for it for free. So they would probably work with you to come up with a solution (reasonable additional charge) whilst you are there if they have the room available at the Poly. If you are staying that long on their property you are paying a big chunk of change so it makes sense to keep you happy and wanting to come again to spend another big chunk of change.

guess im getting a little stressed as i want this holiday to be perfect

This caught my eye misty. I remember being stressed alot while planning our first trip to WDW last year. WDW was so big; so much to experience-and the expense....It truly was the biggest vacation I had ever planned. I too wanted that "perfect" trip.

Couple of things helped me get over it:

1. focus on what you get to do/experience-NOT what you didn't get to do. Now, that may be different for you, because you are there so long(yay!), but it's still a valid point.

2. WDW ain't goin' anywhere-what you didn't get to experience this time, leads to what you get to experience next time. Now, I know that you are further away from WDW than I am-but again, if you want to come back, you can.

3. A plan is necessary-but so is the ability to go with the flow. Take the time to "smell the roses". Sometimes those things you didn't plan, are those special, special moments you remember for years. My wander thru the castle rose garden wasn't something I planned-but it was completely beautiful!

4. Enlist the help of others in your travel party with the planning. Particularily important if you're traveling with teens or tweens, I think. Have them list their "must dos" for parks and other activities; that way everyone goes home happy.

Ok, sorry to wander from the "where to stay" point of this board, but I did want to point out that perfect is as perfect does....
