I had to change the dates of my June trip from June 8-15 to June 22-28. I was booked at POFQ, standard room for 3. There was nothing availible other than king rooms for the later date! Total bummer!! (Curse the snow in NKY which caused me to have to change the dates in the first place!!) The reservations lady tried every possible alternative: POR, Coronado....CB is availible but the pool is not open at that time. That won't work for us. My son was all set for the pool with the slide! There was even limited availibility in the values, and I simply cannot consider a deluxe. I even tried calling AAA to see if they could obtain a room for me.

I ended up booking AS Music. There were no preferred rooms availible. I'm not very excited about it. Can anyone help me feel better about this change? Hasn't Music been recently refurbished?

I could have done Movies, which I love, but we have stayed there before, so I want to try something different. Pop was availible but only standard and I have read reviews about the bus situation and food court crowds there. Can anyone tell me if I am making a good choice?

On another note, I was able to re-book all my ADRs and tours, much to my surprise. Also, the reservations person told me to check back frequently to see if anything becomes availible. I'll have my fingers crossed!

I just put your dates into the Disney UK official website for POFQ and they came up as available without tickets included or with tickets included. I put 2 adults and 1 child who I guessed at as 8, but don't think it's relevant in terms of the child's age. Could you try and book on line and cancel you original booking? Good luck - keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Yeah, the no pool at CBR would have been a deal breaker for my kiddos too. I did standard at Pop and felt it was closer to the pool and food court than the "preferred" location I paid for at CBR. 3rd floor, 70's across from the giant Mickey phone.

How much will you be using the food court at Pop-or at Music for that matter? I really like the more choices they had vs the food court at CBR-but, yeah, the reviews say that it's a zoo especially at breakfast. I only experienced one day. Could one person go and get food and bring it back to the room for others? Remember-there's no fridge or coffee maker at any of the Values. Fridges are available to rent for an additional fee.

Busses-because Pop doesn't stop anywhere else, I felt that the transit time was pretty quick. Don't all of the All-Stars share-at least sometimes?
Bus stop is exposed to weather-but that's true at all the Values.

I'd keep calling and see if you can change to CSR, or Riverside...maybe some pixie dust will come your way.

How old is your kiddo? I know that a slide as been added to at least one of the quiet pools at CBR-and that more child activities have been added as well.

I checked the website and found nothing availible for 3 at FQ. My son is 8 (scooby, you guessed right!) I called again later today to ask if there were any rooms for packages since I inquired about room only originally. The gentleman said it was the same with or without a package--only king rooms. He also advised me to call back 45 days before the date to see if anything opens up. That is when people with a package would have to cancel to avoid a penalty. (He was VERY kind and helpful!)

The one problem I have with changing again is that my stepdaughter, her husband, and their 18 month old are coming with us. (They haven't made a reservation yet.) We would have to find 2 rooms at PO for it to work, but they could do a king room, so it's possible.

My son is the perfect age for the nicer pools with a slide. However, he is a very easy-going kid and will be happy wherever we stay. I was the one who had my heart set on FQ, but oh well. We have stayed at Sports and Movies before so I wanted to treat us to a moderate this time. I'm getting used to the idea of staying at a value again. I'm happy everything else (ADRS) fell into place!

Scooby, I checked the UK website and it did indeed show standard rooms open. I think I will call tomorrow and ask about that, to see how I can access one of them. THANK YOU!

When Disney says that there are no rooms available, that only means that at the current time all the rooms that they have released for reservation have been booked. In other words, Disney does not open up all of their rooms for booking at the same time. Many times I've tried to book a trip a few months out and been told that my first choice wasn't available. I'll go ahead and book whatever they have, and then just call back a month or so later. And just about always I've been able to get the hotel that I originally wanted. Keep your ASM booking, and call back every week or so. I'm betting you'll be able to get the type of room you want at POFQ.

Good luck!

Thank you all so much for the good wishes!! They have already paid off. I was able to get a POR room this morning!! I am beyond thrilled! I was so looking forward to trying a moderate, and was not excited at all about the Music deal. I feel so much better now. :D The only thing that didn't work was the AAA discount, but that's okay! Now I have to change my countdown AGAIN.

DPC, my son had all his fingers crossed when I started to call this AM. He said it was going to be hard to play XBox that way! Fortunately the call was quick and successful. We did the happy dance.

Thank you, Dan for the tip about how they release rooms. Very helpful info. I guess it's all in the timing.
