Ok, tell me if I am crazy (Disney speaking). We are planning a spring break trip to Washington DC ( I wanted to go to Disney again, but was overruled by DH and DS). I know it will be a good trip. However, somehow I got in my mind to take a Disney trip this summer. I just got an email showing that Virgin Atlantic has a fare special for $79 each way from Seattle. Instantly, I'm thinking - bonus, cheaper fare let's go for it.

So now it has evolved into my son saying - ooh let's go for my birthday in May. I figured we could go May 9-14 (his birthday is the 13th). The obvious answer is to be practical and not go. But, I sort of want to throw caution to the winds and just do it.

Fellow Disney people, what would you do?

If I had the opportunity to go to Disneyland, I would go. So... if you can afford to do it, then go and have a wonderful time!

That is just me though.

I spend too much time being practical! Don't do it!

If you "have" the money, I say go for it. There's always somewhere more practical to put money, but I can honestly say I have never regretted spending money on a trip to Disneyland!

The biggest problem is every time I go, I just want to go more and with less time in between!:)

I concur with yellowrosedtxn. Any opportunity I have to go a Disney park, I'm taking it, if I have the funds.

I'm going to a conference in Orlando next month. So, I making my first trip ever to Disney World, after the conference. My wife joins me there on Friday night and we come home on Tuesday. :) :)

Um, are you kidding? On this chat board???? :D I think we'll all say GO!!!!! I know that this year, I have managed to wheedle in way too many trips, and I figure, I'll do it while I can, and then once my hubby catches on (hopefully not soon) that I'm trying to get down there every other month, I'll give up. So, if you can give up a few other extras, and save up some pennies, and stay somewhere cheap (HOJO entertainment rate available?), plan to sneak in packed lunches, etc, you may not spend too much. And the reward is priceless! Good luck with the choice - but this friend at MP says "YES!" ;)

Thanks for all the good advice. My son wants to stay at a Disney hotel, so may not be as cheap as we wanted. I still want to go for it. My husband says, you always find money for Disneyland (which is true, I do). He is also concerned about pulling my son out of school (it would be 3 days). My son is a very bright student, so as long as the teachers get him homework, it will be no problem.

Again, thank you for reassuring me that I'm not crazy!!

I think I read on another thread that the AP rates have been extended through the end of May, so there's another $$ saver for staying at the DL hotel!

Does anyone know what the AP code is? That would be great if it is extended to May. Can anyone confirm for me?

Now I have another question. I need to have an AP to get the AP rate when I check in. I was thinking of upgrading our park hoppers to ap's, but I think the weekend days are blocked. How is the cheapest way to do this? Any ideas, hints, etc...

Isn't everyone else spending their tax rebate check on a trip to DL?

I only wish that a trip to Disneyland would fit into my 1200 refund!

Sadly, this is true. But it covers hotel and some airfare and for everything else there's VISA. (lol) Sometimes you have to go for it.

Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes! Go! Enjoy yourself. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may! A summer isn't a summer without a trip to DL/WDW.

"To promise not to do a thing is the surest way in the world to make a body want to go and do that very thing." -Mark Twain

Go, have fun. LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE. Without these things.....life would be very boring and another famous Mark Twain quote would say, " go beneath the earth and entertain the cabbages." There will be plenty of time to make cabbages smile, for now let's pluck a happy cabbage and make it into a glorious meal!

PS..I do not think they sell cabbage on a stick quite yet in New Orlean's Square..hey maybe thats an idea! :)

Have fun, go tell us all about your adventure!
