Hi, all. I'm headed to Anaheim next week with 8 college students for a conference. They are staying at the Ramada Limited Suites, 2141 S. Harbor, south of Katella, and will be looking for CHEAP places to eat during the conference. The conference hotel is the Hyatt Regency, Orange County. I told them that the Mouse Planet crew would have answers!

A second question - does the Deluxe AP provide "free" parking? Or AAA? at Disneyland? They will have a 15 passenger van and want to go to the park Saturday, March 1. I thought they should just park at the motel and walk, but also said I would check if I could get free parking for them with my AP or AAA membership. Thanks, all!

If you're up for a little bit of a walk, North on Harbor, Mimi's Cafe is a great bang for your buck. Great food, big portions, and VERY reasonable prices.

Your DAP has parking IF you added parking to it. If someone buys their ticket at AAA, it comes with parking. Otherwise, everyone chip in $1.50 and pay for Mickey and Friends ($11). Or walk (it is CLOSE!)

Mc Donalds is close, for cheap eats. They have the dollar menu.

No matter what, do not eat at Captain Kidds or Tiffys. IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

Denny's at Harbor and Chapman (?) is cheaper than the Denny's by the park by about $2 a plate.

Or, live on Dole Whips!

Ok, so you'll be closer to the convention center area than the park area and the conference will be even further South.

There's a Carl's Jr on Harbor between the Convention Center and the Hyatt.

There's also a Baker's Square on Harbor which isn't fast food cheap but it's not as much as other restaurants will be in the area. The Hyatt is right across the street from Target if you want to pop in there for snacks but if you have a van you might consider packing an ice chest and bringing some food with you, too.

AVOID THE IHOP!!!!! We were down in October and went there for breakfast, the prices were jacked HIG and the food made us all sick. We had to stop halfway down to San Diego and spend awile in the litle boys and girls rooms. McDonalds is WAY better!!

You can Add parking to the AP for $40, so if you are going a couple of times or for a couple of days it is worth it. OOOH right around the corner on Harbor from your hotel, going away from Disney was a little Pizza joint, IT WAS AWESOME and cheap!!

If you like Mexican food. Try "Los Sanchez" It's on Garden Grove Blvd. in the city of Garden Grove near Harbor Blvd. Drive down Harbor turn right on Garden Grove. Restaurant is on the left. Good food inexpensive, big portions packed with meat! Double what you get at "Chevys" for less $

I agree about IHOP! We went there a few weeks ago and the prices were CRAZY! I mean $15.00 for a breakfast plate +2.00 for OJ! It was the most expensive place we ate on our whole trip! I think I paid $6.50 for a KIDS MEAL!!! I will never be back.

Isn't taco bell still in the gas station just north of the HoJo?

One thing to keep in mind, the OP won't be staying near Disneyland. Her hotel is actually south of Orangewood, closer to Chapman than Katella, let alone the Main Gate area of Harbor.

There is a Del Taco on Harbor near Chapman I like, though it is a bit more expensive than other Del Taco's.

There is also a Jack in the Box on Harbor, just south of Wilken Way (about one block from the Ramada Limited.

Both are good fast food options.
