View Full Version : Do Port Orleans Resorts have poolside rooms dawz1026 02-21-2008, 06:15 AM Just wondering how room location goes here.Is there poolside or just river view? tjrj 02-21-2008, 07:07 AM There's the dreaded "water view" category which is $15 more a night. Then in requests you can request a river view, or pool view. I wouldn't pay extra for any "view" category at a moderate. There's a public walk way and railing in front of any "view" any way-not like a real balcony at a deluxe. brazen wench 02-21-2008, 07:22 AM Also, at POR, a lot of pool views are blocked by the landscaping. I once got a free upgrade facing a quiet pool and couldn't see much water. GusMan 02-21-2008, 07:49 AM Like I mentioned in the other PO-related thread, I dont think that the pool view rooms are worth the extra cash. Like BW mentioned, many of the "views" are obscured by the landscaping. Even if you are on the upper levels, its not like a Deluxe where you might have a balcony where you can just sit and overlook the view. Besides, I think you will get a better "view" by walking around the resorts and enjoying the theming. I think that is what draws me to POR the most. dawz1026 02-21-2008, 12:10 PM So upper or lower rooms really doesn't matter...are end rooms any better or more private? I wasn't thinking about the walkway in front of the room - good point! tjrj 02-21-2008, 03:13 PM Because of building design-many corner rooms have two windows. That appeals to me because I like alot of light in my motel rooms. Not sure of the privacy factor. At CBR, it wasn't an issue-saw our neighbors only once. Felt really quiet-even when the resort was at capacity. tdelaney_98 02-21-2008, 05:36 PM I like the corner room too, b/c of the great light. I open my curtains as soon as I'm dressed (good thing!!:)):) so there's not a privacy issue for me. I don't care if someone walks by and sees me watching Stacy on Top 7 or eating a PB&J. IF you're sensitive to privacy, it might be an issue. Wasn't for me, though. Kel 02-22-2008, 04:38 AM Last time we went we got a garden view, and I think that would be better than what I imagine a water view is. We were on the 3rd floor at the end and if you looked out the window you could see all the trees and such. I'd pay (Well I say I'D pay, when its my parents who do the paying :p) for a garden view over water view any day! houseofmouse 02-25-2008, 11:45 AM I don't think I would pay for a water view. What if it were the pool? Pools are sooooo noisy and lit up, I don't think I would enjoy that. I am sure many would but not me. :) If I were guarenteed a river or stream view if it has one I might do that. :) I guess I would rather have a view of bushes. We had a view of back parking lot at All Star Movies in the Love Bug Section and it was super quiet! I will take that anyday. :) |
