Hello to all,

We are arriving to Orlando at 6:00am from California. We're flying on a red eye to hopefully have our 18 month old sleep the whole way (crossing fingers). This is our first air trip with him.
My mother, sister and two brothers are joining us as well.
What do previous visitors suggest on the first day. It will have to be a light day since we will be tired, but we don't want to waste the day (ticket).
Thank you for any input.

My sister and her family did a red-eye last year from Oregon -and it worked pretty well for us (there were some airport delays and non-stop flights involved, so they didn't arrive quite as early as you will). Just did a swim in the pool, Downtown Disney shopping and dinner, and then crashing fairly early Pacific time, so we could be through the gates and waiting for rope drop and riding Dumbo at 8 am the next morning!

I think the key for us/them was NOT napping the first day - and not pushing too hard either

It depends on whether your room is ready when you arrive at the resort. If it is--take a nap and then eat lunch and maybe have a swim. Go to Hollywood Studios for the afternoon/ night and see Muppet 3-D Theater and Fantasmic. That's my suggestion.

I'm thinking of doing MGM Studios. I hope that they let us in early. I'll make sure to hold my tired baby.
