I am having a horrible time finding an open standard room for the Contemporary for the summer. I have always stayed at Port Orleans but due to slow busses it is too hard to stay there with my autistic son. I have tried on disneys websitebut having no luck.

Have you tried switching your dates around slightly? Sometimes that results in better luck for some unknown reason. If moving them a day or two gives you good hits - call to reserve, there's probably just something funky with the online stuff.

Also, since they've taken down one of the Garden wings - there's only about 1/2 the capacity in standard (non-tower) rooms as there used to be. So that could be a factor.

Have you thought about the Poly? (not sure the $ diff with Garden Wing rooms at Contemp, though).

I don't know anything about booking the Contemporary but Drince is right, the on line Disney booking system does some strange things which can be there one day and not the next, there for a few weeks then vanish. I stalked the UK Disney site for about 6 weeks when I knew we had no choice but to make an August reservation due to local school hols so was going to make sure if we had to go in August we at least grabbed the free dining window (it's a short one here if you want to make sure no school days are missed). I know from this experience however that the information on line can appear inconsistent/contradictory. Give them a call. Good luck!

Just to let you guys know I called disney and all the standard room s are pretty much booked up sue to demolishment of the wing. I guess I'll look ito the poly they had plenty of rooms.
