Ok people,

Since I recieved such a great response on my Paradise Pier question...

I have been looking at the differences between the different off property hotels too.

We stayed in the Candy Cane inn, but I got really tired of the breakfast, and since we will be going in Dec. we wont use the pool like we did in august.

I have seen the reviews for the RI on clementine and the Ayers and wonder if any of you have any recommendations/warnings/etc. We will have a car, so that won't be an issue.

We love the Residence Inn Maingate. It would be my choice of teh 3. I love the breakfast inthe mornings. I like having a full kitchen. And the staff is so friendly.

Malcon10t - we stayed at the Residence Inn years ago (it was very nice- btw) - well the first time was 1989 - anyway . . . do they still have a private shuttle or is it the ART? I think I "heard" you say you sometimes use a scooter . . .were you able to easily scooter between DL and the hotel? We are looking at maybe trying them again this summer.

The stop is between building 6 and 7. I use the scooter at Disneyland. The trams are accessible. Personally, I usually ride the scooter to the park while my kids take the tram or they walk. It takes about 7 mins on the scooter.

We have stayed at the RI on Clementine a couple of times now. The property is pretty and clean, the breakfast has a large selection - not gourmet, but if you're not real picky, it'll do nicely. They have a small section at the front desk area of convenience store types of snacks and toiletries.
The staff has always been friendly.
I'd recommend asking for a room away from the main streets, our room was noisy and scaring my DS.
They're on the ART and it was very quick and convenient.
I'd stay there again, but they were too expensive this next time we're going, so we're trying the Homewood Suites on Harbor. I've heard their suites are a little larger than RI.

I've heard their suites are a little larger than RI.Homewood regular 1 bedroom suite is larger than RI studio suite, its about the same size as the RI small 1 bedroom (but HS has a better layout) and is smaller than the other RI units (large 1 bedroom, Penthouse suites, and the 2 bedroom unit.)

Don't forget to try the Marriott "Look No Further" Guarantee for the best rates. I just booked a small one bedroom at the RI on Clementine for $89.43. The rate on www.marriott.com was $134.50, Expedia was $119.25, and Marriott beat that by 25%!

It pays to shop around and price check!!
